· PREREQUISITE: A grade of C or better in Math 1305 and Math 1306, or Math 2401.

· TEXTBOOK: Business Statistics in Practice, 5th edition by Bowerman, O’Connell and Murphee, published by McGraw-Hill Irvin, 2009.

· COURSE CONTENTS:

Unit I. Descriptive Statistics: Sections 1.1-1.2, 2.1-2.4, 3.1-3.2

Unit II. Probability and Sampling Distributions: Sections 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 6.1, 6.3, 7.1

Unit III. Introduction to Statistical Inference: Sections 8.1-8.3, 9.1-9.3

Unit IV. Correlation and Regression: Sections 3.4, 13.1, 13.3

· HOMEWORK/QUIZZES: Homework exercises are assigned but not all of them are collected. There will be a quiz or homework due once a week.

· TESTS: There are 3 tests during the semester. No make-up test will be given.

· FINAL EXAM: The final exam is comprehensive and all students must take it.
