This is to notify international students that we now start accepting application to rent a room at the International House for academic year 2014, fall semester.

1. Application

Pick up the application form at one of the following places and submit the form by August 8, 2014.

2.Deadline: August 8, 2014

*Application by e-mail is accepted only at International Affairs Division.

*Research students and students who’ve already have academic advisors should submit the application form through your academic advisors.

*Students who will attend programs such as student exchange program should submit application form to contact person of the programs.

4.Eligibility

(1)New international students who will enroll in KumamotoUniversity from academic year 2014, fall semester.

*Exclusive of elective course students(called kamokuto-rishusei in Japanese)

(2)International students who have not lived in the International Housebefore (exclude of elective course students). *Returning international students who had been residents of the International House before andhad left Japan after that are eligible.

5. Period of Residence

6 months or 1 year

* Applicants, who wish to have a specific period of residence, are advised to consult with International Student Office individually.

* Move-in date: September 18, 2014 for undergraduate exchange students

October 1, 2014 for others students

6. Fees(Monthly)

(1)The deposit will be refunded if any equipment and furniture have no damage.

(2)Common Service Charge is fixed and can’t be pro-rated discounted.

(3)Rental fee for Futon(Bedding) is also needed

(4)Cleaning fee(about 10,000~20,000yen) will be charged when you move out.

(5) Utility fee for room for shared(quad) is subject to change.

7. Responsibilities

Residents of the Kumamoto University International House are required to obey the regulations of the International House. If you feel it difficult to do so, you are advised to find accommodation other than International House. For more details, please read the booklet entitled "Kumamoto University International House Occupant Regulations" which is available at the International Affairs Division.

* Moving-in&out have to be taken during its office hours:Mon-Fri 9:00am. to 4pm (3pm for move-out) on weekdays.(Except for Saturday, Sunday, National holidays.)
* Having guests stay overnight in the International House is strictly prohibited.
Lending yourroom out to someone is also strictly prohibited.
* You must not lend out or duplicate International House keys.
* There may be occasions when personnel and/or other staff members need to enterrooms without notice in order to do emergency checks onroom equipment and furnishings.
* Please disposal of your garbage on the specified collection day at designated site.
* All residents must take turns cleaning the garbage station.
* Please park bicycles and motorcycles in designated parking places.
* To keep the bed mattress clean, please rent futon(bedding).
