If you answered yes to these questions then we have a position for you as we build the China ATC-based development, test, PM and UA team for hosting solutions! The Microsoft Communications Sector hosting solution unit is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our ranks to help define and deliver the next generation of commercial service solutions on MS technology based out of the ATC in China.
We deliver solutions to the hosting community to help them offer services hosted on the Windows platform (e.g. Web hosting, Data hosting with SQL Server, Hosted Exchange, SharePoint and hosting). Our solutions include code for automation and provisioning, customized analytics for reporting through MOM and SQL Reporting services, automated multi-server deployment technology and extensive guidance on operations, sales and marketing, channel management and marketing.
Hosting Solutions testers have a huge opportunity to work with a multitude of technologies, from our own orchestration code base which manages and provisions hosting solutions, through to testing a variety of client and server products in multi-tenant environments.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing feature specifications, design specifications, working with the SDET Lead to develop test specifications and test plans for features;
- Writing automated test cases in C# to the common Hosting Solutions test automation model;
- Enhancing the core test toolset and infrastructure to support fully automated testing of Hosted Solutions.
- Improving test coverage and ensuring adequate test execution;
- Providing feedback on solution design, implementation and functionality;
- Improving the overall test process to take account of new tools, methodologies and general test engineering excellence;
- Working to reduce the overall cost of testing Hosted Solutions, including sustained engineering.
Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, an aptitude for problem solving and have a strong Computer Science background with solid C# programming skills (or Java with understanding of C#), debugging skills and a keen test aptitude. An unquenchable drive to break code and a passion for helping ship high quality software is a must. BS/MS in computer science or related technical discipline is required.
Experience with server products such as Exchange, SQL, Windows, Active Directory, SharePoint etc. is desirable.
