May 11, 2010 Meeting called to Order by Chair, Jules Yates Jules Yates, Michael Sheridan, Dan Stiebel, Chad Brown, Pam Mork, John Porter, Peter Don Kelly

Staff in Attendance:

MOTION made to approve minutes of April 13, 2010 and today’s agenda: Carried.

Aging in Place – Yates reported that the Task Force has met with Jody Fisk of EZ Able, LLC

(Accessible Solutions); Jim Moore of Disability Network of Northern Michigan; Diana Zinsli of North

Country Cabinets; and Kim Schmitz of Acts of Love. Read reported that most homes now being built

have “aging in place features”. The Task Force will continue to meet and is looking at Features that

could be added to the Profile Data Sheet, along with incorporating an Addendum that would

address universal design features of a property. Committee needs to be aware of the sensitivity to

terms and not use the word “Handicap” in feature items and future addendums.

Yates discussed the need for general “GREEN” education of the membership.
