Staff Briefing Notes

Wednesday 15 November 2017 at 8.45am in the Staffroom

JCL /
  • Thanks to everyone for their support at the recent Parents’ Evening. Feedback from staff was generally positive. We will do some things differently next time but overall it went well and being together in one area worked well. The evening was quieter as expected but we had some quality conversations and parents were appreciative.
  • Details of future Parents’ Evenings will be sent out in advance. They’ll be for the whole year group but we will still encourage parents of students we have concerns about to attend.

PRS /
  • We’ve had some complaints from the Police, the general publicand staff about the bad behaviour of students in the Metrolink area at the front of college - smoking, vaping, litter and general bad manners. It is really important that we emphasize to students that they are representing the college and they should behave responsibly in general public areas. I’ve sent out an email to students but if tutors could talk to students about this please. It is the minority of our students who behave irresponsibly.
  • On a positive note we’ve also received an email from a member of the public saying how polite and well-mannered some of our students were on the bus from Oldham to Lees!

PMY /
  • Reminder that Pivotal training is taking place for support staff this morning in the LLT after briefing.
