Building on strong foundations

There’s one thing that we all agree on - St Mary’s School is a wonderful place to be.

Whether working in the classroom, coming together for spiritual reflection and development or putting heart and soul into sporting endeavours on the field, our ethos – built on strong Church of England foundations - pervades everything we do. We strive to provide an environment committed to broadening opportunity, to fostering teamwork and friendship, to inspiring attitudes and aspiration and to developing self-belief and generosity of spirit. In short – St Mary’s is a place where staff and pupils feel safe to develop as individuals.

You will realise that we are proud of St Mary’s and what we have achieved. But we also realise that we can always do better. Aspire to even greater things.

And that’s where you come in.

You will need to build on these strong foundations and steer the School through periods of inevitable change. Changes in curricula, in funding streams and in the ways that we perform. But at St Mary’s, we see change in a positive way. At a time when we are considering the future direction of the school having the right leader has never been more important. Not only do we need a headteacher who can help us navigate these challenging seas, we also need one who will help us never lose sight of the most important aspect of our school – our pupils’ learning.

So, if you are a strong, caring and aspirational leader with the skills to ensure that we and our pupils continue to grow; that every pupil makes quantifiable progress and achieves their full potential in everything that they do; that our learning environment continues to support and encourage creativity, interest and fun… then we would love to hear from you!
