REGIONAL MARKETING OFFICER

RESPONSIBLE TO:FUNDRAISING MANAGER

SALARY:BAND 4 £19,717 - £22,458 per annum

ROLE:To achieve the regional financial targets to meet ongoing and future needs of the Hospice.

AIM: The post holder will act as a regional representative in the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadownareas promoting all fundraising activities.

MINIMUM CRITERIA:

A degree in marketing or other relevant qualifications plus 1-year post degree experience in marketing or fundraising environment

OR

Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a fundraising/marketing role

You must have a current driving licence and access to a car.

DUTIES

  1. Establish and manage support groups and regular in the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadownareas ensuring that you are aware of and comply with the legal requirements relating to support groups.
  2. To manage the distribution and servicing of the Hospice collection boxes in the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown areas utilising volunteers to assist where possible and to increase the money from these boxes by developing new outlets and creative appeals.
  3. To initiate contacts with schools and offer schools fundraising appeals or sponsored events in the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadownareas.
  4. To initiate and respond to community contacts including talks, meetings and using all forms of communications for regional appeals and campaigns.
  5. To generate income in your geographical area in line with Regional Area Targets and to increase income via other income streams i.e. Lottery etc.
  6. To act in accordance with the Hospice principles regarding the relationship with its supporters, many of whom may have experienced bereavement.
  7. Given the wide-ranging nature of fundraising, all activities cannot be listed within the job description. Regional Marketing Officers take on other duties as required.
  8. Be prepared to work evenings and weekends with time off in lieu for the extra hours worked.
  9. To assist Fundraising Manager and other members of the team within the organisation of events such as ladies luncheon, golf tournaments etc
  10. To participate in team appeals such as the annual car raffle, Christmas card appeal and overseas fundraising treksetc.
  11. To make use of fundraising database and maintain and up date as required for regional donors.
  12. To make contact with church youth groups and women’s groups and so on to initiate fundraising and spread awareness of the work of the Hospice.
  13. To pro-actively promote awareness of Hospice Services in your area.
  14. To proactively market hospice in the community sector with a view to establishing networks and increasing fundraising revenue.
  15. Any other duties as required.
