st john's college School cambridge help charitable care farm, The prospects Trust, get into top gear with their fundraising efforts

St John's College School's Parent Association picked The Prospects Trust as their charity of the term and have boosted the growth of this small but unique farm. Over £3,500 has been raised by the St John's College School Parent Association, with a Keep Calm and Curry On Quiz night and the school's annual Charity Fun Day.

Lucy White, Chair of the Parents Association, delivered the cheque personally to Snakehall Farm and received a very special thank you from Tilly Tractor and the Farm Team at Prospects Trust, including a quick drive of Tilly around the farm fields.

The Prospects Trust is a socially inspiring enterprise supporting people with disabilities to take an active role in farming & growing on an accessible 18 acre organic farm in Cambridgeshire. Established in 1989 the charity provides supported work and training five days per week to over 45 Co-workers (adults with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and varying health needs). The charity also provides an accessible learning centre for schools, groups and volunteers on a real working farm.

Maz Baker, Development Co-managerat The Prospects Trust said "We were so happy to be selected as one of the St John's College School's Parent Association's annual charities and have really enjoyed taking part in their summer Fun Day, bringing the farm to the school. This funding is a vital kickstart to our Farm Van Fund appeal. We are aiming to raise over £12,000 to fund a new vehicle that will provide essential accessible transport for our Co-workers, enabling them to access our farm, training and support the delivery of our lovely organic produce to our wholesale customers across Cambridgeshire".

Rhian Elis, Executive Officer at The Prospects Trust said "as a social enterprise, the Prospects Trust generates an income, through the sale of organic produce and plants in our farm shop and via our wholesale customers, which is ploughed back into the running of the organisation, but no matter how hard our farm teams work we would never raise the funds needed for capital improvements, such as our new farm van without the support of our charity partners such as St John's College School Parent Association".
