Eduard Goodman is the Chief Privacy Officer for IDT911 in Scottsdale, Arizona, starting with the organization shortly after their move from San Francisco, California to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2005.

Eduard graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Upon graduation he moved to Switzerland where he worked for MIGROS Genossenschaft, a cooperative organization and one of Switzerland’s largest business organizations. Upon returning to the United States, Eduard attended the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a dual concentration in Intellectual Property and International law. While studying at McGeorge Eduard had the honor of participating in a summer program in Salzburg, Austria where he studied under U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and received a certificate in international legal studies from Salzburg University’s Austro-American Institute of Education.

Upon being conferred his J.D., Eduard moved to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. There he completed his Masters of Law (LL.M.) in International Business and Trade law at Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam where he became the first American to be conferred that degree at Erasmus. Eduard has researched and studied comparative Privacy law at the International Court of Justice in the Hague with his published LL.M. dissertation titled: “CONFLICTS IN REGIONAL APPROACHES TO PRIVACY AND PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION IN TRANSNATIONAL BUSINESS: A comparative look at the policies and laws of the E.U. and U.S.A

Eduard sits on the State Bar of Arizona’s Technology Committee, where he co-chairs the cyber-liability subcommittee and serves asthe 2015-2016 Section Chairofthe Technology and E-Commerce Practice Section. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) with certifications forthe U.S., Canada and the European Union.Eduard is a member of the American Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, International Bar Association, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Eduard is responsible for working with IDT911’s U.S. and global operations in building IDT911’s international data breach response programs. He regularly writes and lectures on data protection, data security and emerging technology issues, especially those with a privacy and/or insurance angle. Prior to joining IDT911 in 2005, in addition to helping implement a client management system in one of the largest criminal defense firms in Arizona, Eduard was in private practice and practiced in the areas of international e-commerce, privacy, criminal law, civil litigation and business law.

When Eduard isn’t working or spending time outdoors with his wife, daughters and dog, he can usually be found in the garage welding, doing metal work or tinkering on his Jeeps.
