Job Title:Community Fundraiser

Salary:£21,360 per annum

Hours of Work:37.5 hours per week

Annual Leave Entitlement:22 days plus Public Bank Holidays

Pension:Cancer Research Wales operate a Money Purchase Pension Scheme (where CRW will contribute twice the contribution of its employee to a maximum of 13%)

The role of Cancer Research Wales is to raise funds to support pioneering cancer research in Wales, which has the potential to benefit lives in the future.

The postholder must embrace the charity’s aim to create ‘supporters for life’ and work to build long term professional relationships with our supporters, who make the work of our charity possible.

Purpose of position:

The post holder will be an active member of the CRW Fundraising Team and support all aspects of the Fundraising Strategy, whilst at times supporting the administrative, scientific and commercial teams.

The post holder will have a positive and proactive attitude, committed to raising funds and offering the highest standards of customer service.

The post holder will have a broad range of responsibilities which will require significant initiative and flexibility, ensuring they work at all times in a professional and timely manner.

Main duties:

  1. Support and create new community fundraising committees throughout Wales
  1. Maintain and create effective relationships with existing and potential supporters, suppliers and other key stakeholders
  1. Develop new and support existing fundraising activities and events
  1. Positively promote the charity at any available opportunity, to enhance the CRW brand
  1. Recruit and delegate tasks to CRW volunteers when appropriate
  1. To work within the relevant charity legislation and the Fundraising Regulator Codes of Practice.
  1. Deal with day to day public and internal queries in a professional, timely and at times sensitive manner, with the ability to receive, handle, analyse and resolve queries in a prompt and appropriate manner and to direct unresolved queries to the appropriate person
  1. Process merchandise orders, order supplies and keep accurate records
  1. Produce professional and persuasive promotional literature
  1. Regularly attend out of hours CRW events, which includes attending events such as the National Eisteddfod (which will require up to 8 days away from home)
  1. To undertake any other reasonable responsibilities or duties to support the administration, scientific, commercial and fundraising teams
  1. Have a positive attitude towards continued personal development and training.

Reporting to: Fundraising Manager

PROBATIONARY PERIOD
Appointment to this post is subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period of 6 months. During this time the Charity Director and/or your direct line manager will have the opportunity to review and assess your suitability for the post.
