Parent-Teacher Interviews: The youngest/only child in each family is bringing home an important letter today regarding Parent-Teacher Interviews on Thursday Nov. 23rd and Friday Nov. 24th. Please find some time to complete the form and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday Nov. 3rd. Only one form is required per family. Thank you so much for your timely attention to this request.

Pediculosis –We know that it is frustrating and inconvenient when a child is found to have head lice. Please see information below regarding our protocol for re-entry.

Re-entry Process:

A child who has had lice must be re-checked by an approved agency in order to assure that there is clearance of head lice. We have a No Nit Procedure and clearance for return to school will only be given if all nits have been removed. (No Nit Procedure)

If there are still live lice, eggs, or nits, the screening agency will not provide clearance for the pupil to return to school but will provide assistance and suggestions for eliminating the remaining live lice or eggs. A re-check will be required.

If parents have questions or concerns, they are directed to contact their School Principal or the website listed above under Principles.

Attendance: A reminder that as a school we are monitoring student attendance. We strive to work in partnership with families to help ensure that your child is at school regularly. We will be communicating with parents when we start to notice a higher number of absences. The purpose of our initial communication is to make families aware of the number of absences and to offer support in ensuring that students are at school regularly, as well as offer support for students in catching up on missed work. If you have any questions please contact either Mr. Ceelen or Mrs. Scannell.

Monthly Family Math Challenges:– The students and staff are very excited about the Family Math Challenges. We know that you are your child’s first and most important teacher, and we are hopeful that these math challenges will provide an enjoyable and engaging way for you and your child to talk about math. We look forward to reading the wide variety of responses that will be submitted! On October 31st, we will draw one winner from each division (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior and Intermediate)
