Principal’s Report / ·  Catholic Schools Week just happened. We did not have an Open House this time and there has been no complaints. We were told that St. Simon and Jude had an open house this year and only had 10 people show up which seems to show some evidence that perhaps moving away from that is the right choice.
·  The events held at the school for Catholic Schools Week were fun and went well. The Fun Run was held by the same company as last year and it went really well, lots of fun. The staff versus 8th grade Kickball game was also a fun event & Staff won. There are many pictures on facebook showing this event.
·  The Daddy Daughter Dance has been renamed the Princess Ball. This was done to accommodate all the unique family situations we have at St. Jerome. Girls could invite a date of their choice for the dance. This dance will be held on February 10 & Parishioners are encouraged to come as well.
·  Kim will be attending LEI, The Latino Enrollment Institute on 2/9 & 2/10
·  Kevin asked if we needed to move Soup & Bread because of the Dance & it was discussed that it would not be necessary as the dance starts at 6pm in Hall A & Soup & Bread is over at 6 in Hall C so there should be no issue there. No one felt the situation would be unsafe in anyway. As we spoke about safety Kevin mentioned that police often sit in our parking lot and keep an eye on things and Kevin said he Thanked them for helping in that way.
·  A 3% tuition increase has been decided on & will be implemented in the 2017-2018 year
·  The school just finished an internal registration, registering all current students who are returning next year. We are now doing tours and offering spots to others. We have a had a lot of interest, registering some students on the spot
·  The Shea contracts should be coming soon. They have not been signed yet. Kim is asking Shea if they might have some plans they can offer just to give us an idea of what’s going on so we can show perspective families.
Pastor’s Report / ·  CDA is beginning this weekend Feb 11. John Lowry is in charge & will be speaking at all the masses. Our goal was $75,000 last year and we were just a bit short and that is our goal this year too
·  Scouts. They will remain chartered with us through the end of May so they have time to find a new place to go. The email correspondence with the Troop was offered out to Parishioners so they would know exactly why the decision was made and not go strictly by rumors that may be circulating.
·  Recycling is something we are working on. We will have a presentation at the Spanish masses for the children to teach them about recycling dos & don’ts. the hope is if the children learn then they can help the parents understand what needs to be done.
·  We need to start looking at mass times both the Sunday & daily masses. We are continuing to do mass counts so that we have real numbers to try and base some decisions off to better serve the parish. We need to consider a Spanish daily mass.
Finance Report / Michelle Toto
·  The Finance council brought up at their meeting that they thought it would be nice to challenge people to give a little more. Even if it is just an extra dollar.
·  Finance Committee voted to approve 2 more AC Units- grand totals of about $18,000. This will begin on February 8, 2017
·  We need to figure out a way to bring in more money through EFT. It was discussed to possibly have a laminated form so people can check off that they give electronically so they have something to put in the basket every Sunday
·  Groups have until February 28, to get their budgets together. The first draft should be ready for review in March. There will be a copy of the Budget for Parish to review as well.
Events Report / ·  The Men’s Retreat is coming up on March 10-12
·  The Knights of Columbus will be holding a Saint Patrick’s Dinner on March 11, 2017
·  The Free Throw Event was held the last weekend January 29. It didn’t get very much turn out at all so they think they will switch it back to Friday after school for basketball when more school children would participate. They will keep soccer on Sunday after masses as it did get a good turnout.
·  March 1st is Ash Wednesday the mass time are as follows 630am-Mass English 830am Mass English 1200pm Liturgy of the Word English 530pm Mass English 700pm Mass Spanish
Building
and
Grounds Report / ·  We are looking for someone who knows EBAY who could possibly sell the lights that we got donated but are unable to use. Kevin will ask Joe Danko if he has any ideas.
·  We bought a new 21 foot ladder that will now allow us to change our lights in the parking lot our self saving us quite a bit of money
Additional Items / ·  No additional Items mentioned
