Math Summer Review – Incoming 6th Grade
Dear Parents and Students:
As your child’s math teacher for the upcoming school year, I am recommending that your child will continue to practice pre-requisite skills essential for success in 6th grade math. Retaining mathematical skills as students move up to the next grade level is very important to their academic performance.
Please encourage your child to spend at least 30 minutes a day to practice the IXL assignments. This interactive math website is one of the resources I’m using to teach math in the middle school. The IXL standards are common core aligned. The website provides rewards and positive feedback if students answer the problems correctly. It also provides explanations to students if they make mistakes. Above all, it’s free because the school has already paid for your child’s account.
Below are the recommended assignments for review/enrichment. Please let me know if your child needs his/her IXL username and password.
Thank you,
Mrs. Lilia Patriarca
