  1. 18 :07 – Start with prayer
  2. Quorem: Yes
  3. Review of minutes – Accepted
  4. Finance: Some concern on offertory running a little behind compared to this time last year. Feb was down 3.8% at 13767.50 of which 3430 was from We Share. This is up 5.5% for the year, however. Most likely due to the 75K drive. Will monitor.
  5. Reports:
  6. Respect Life:
  7. No report
  8. Outreach:
  9. No report; current outreach activity is the pregnancy center drive, “baby shower.”
  10. Religious Education :
  11. No report; 3 more classes. Council will coordinate with RE team for classes and planning over break for next September. (logistics, otherwise...)
  12. Liturgical : Mary
  13. PLC received grant money to renovate the gymnasium floor. This is no longer an issue as the floor refinish will not be done this summer. So we are free to conduct mass in the gym until the Church is finished.
  14. Womens Group : Mary
  15. Mardis Gras breakfast was fantastic.
  16. Group trip to the winery and mass in Canyon City.
  17. Knights : Kevin S.
  18. Tootsie roll campaign checks supported Falcon Elem, Peyton Elem, Woodmen Hills Elem, Edison district 54JT, and Hill Springs Academy.
  19. St. Ben’s/St. Michael’s KC is known as the little council that does a lot.
  20. Facilities : Mary
  21. Have storage unit for the remaining items in the barn. Just needsto be leveled. This has been completed including the barn clean out.
  22. Once church is built, we will need to have more specific duties defined for team; work load will change from what it is now. Currently team is Joe, Bob, Mary, Norm and the Sweats. Need to find volunteers with electrical, facilities type background. Joe and Karen will sit down to develop a St Benedict’s Facility Manager guide. The plan is still under development.
  23. Several parishioners have donated trees to replant on church grounds as directed in the Landscaping Plan; (19) 6’ Ponderosa trees required. Contractor has agreed to allow Parish to get the trees and Landscaper will stake where they must go and they will be planted for about $150 each, saving an estimated $5K on the landscaping contract.
  24. Reviewed trees available from Evergreen.
  25. Motion was made to develop a parish landscaping team to support the landscaping contractor. This will not be possible, but contractor agreed to allow the parish to water the trees and maintain the drip lines (from damage, etc). Anyone taking care of the trees under construction will have to follow safety regulations from Art Klein Construction.
  26. Teen Club : Deacon Lynn
  27. Garage Sale was very successful. They have raised the funds to support the group and chaperons to go to Stubenville of the Rockies as well as additional funds to support the start of their activities next year. Everything has been taken out of the barn.
  28. Clay and Ann Lloyd have asked for someone else to take over ministry. Another couple is considering supporting. Deacon John is following up.

  5. Hospitality needs considered now that the hall is not available and we have at least 3 more classes this year for RE and should provide a space available. Possibly rent the gym for remainder of RE. Look at using the garage in the summer season for hospitality. Use cafeteria over the summer even? Using the cafeteria is easily accessible right after mass. Will need to determine the fee/rental for use of the cafeteria.
