Project : Medicaid Management Information System

Sr. Software Engineer

10 months

The objective of the project is to design and develop current suite of Medicaid management product as a highly customizable SOA based J2EE application. ACS’s customers for this product are typically the Medicaid systems of US States, such as Mississippi, North Carolina, Florida and others. Currently, “customization” for each state largely consists of making copies of some of the existing code (COBOL and PowerBuilder), and then re-writing it for the new customer. The result has been an ever-growing collection of applications – one for each customer – that has become difficult to manage as a product set. This situation has proven to be expensive, labor-intensive, non-extensible, non-reusable, error-prone and generally non–scalable on many levels.

The intention of the project is to create a “core application” that can be readily customized for individual ACS customers, with minimal effort and maximal manageability.

Responsibilities:

·  Extracting Business Rules from Rules catalog and doing Rule designing for approved Business Rules into BRD

·  Developing different Rule Entities like Rule Flows, Decision Tables, Decision Trees and Rules with required Templates & Provides according to the requirement and doing debugging in Blaze IDE

All the activities related to definition, approval and maintenance that occur in an insurance product’s lifecycle after a product has been conceptualized and designed are within the scope of PLCM.

PLCM Workbench: The PLCM Framework is divided into the workbench and engine. PLCM workbench provides an interface for the product modelers to define and maintain insurance products and test those defined products. It also enables the modelers to define and maintain the various models (Fulfillment Model, Risk Model and Needs Model).

PLCM Engine: The PLCM Engine interprets the fulfillment and risk information provided by the customer to select a set of best suited products that would satisfy the customer needs and refines the products based on the variations defined by the modelers based on the jurisdiction, distribution channel and the specific risk profile. The engine also determines the conditions that would apply to the configured recommendation and computes the price.
