SOCIETY
Sri Vishnu Educational Society was established by Padmabhushan Dr. B. V. Raju in the year 1992 with a long cherished ambition to promote and disseminate knowledge and serve the cause of education, in general and technical/ professional education, in particular.
Sri Vishnu Educational Society together with Dr. B.V. Raju Foundation, in addition to serving the noble cause of education, is actively involved in helping the poor and the down trodden by way of providing free health care, drinking water, sanitation, knowledge centers and other societal problems of Bhimavaram and the neighbouring villages. The Foundation and the Society have a committed Philosophy and firmly believe that Service to Humanity is Service to God.
With this lofty aim in mind, this society in collaboration with Dr. B.V.Raju Foundation launched the following Institutions in this campus:

INSTITUTION
Shri Vishnu Engineering College for women was established during the academic year 2001-2002 to empower women in professional courses. The college has the vision to develop the students with a Disciplined and Integrated personality and to achieve Academic Excellence, thus making SVECW the first choice for students and staff.
Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women has witnessed significant growth within a short period of over 6 years and stands out as one of the best Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The college is the first in the state of Andhra Pradesh to start an FM station, VISHNU FM-90.4, in April, 2007.
Recently, in recognition of its progressive strides, JNTU has accorded permanent affiliation of 5 yrs to SVECW.

About the Department
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the academic year 2001-02 with an annual intake of 60. The intake was increased to 90 from the academic year 2003-04 and later to 120 from the academic year 2004-05. Three batches of students have graduated so far. The Department has a number of well-equipped laboratories and provides excellent facilities for learning. The Department periodically organizes seminars, symposia, workshops and guest lectures for the benefit of both the students and the faculty. The mission of the department is “To impart Quality Education in Electronics and Communication Engineering”.
The department has 32 teaching Faculty comprising of 3 Professors, 6 Associate Professors and 23 Asst. Professors with 1 Ph.D., 17 M.Tech.s and 14 B.Tech.s. Four staff members are pursuing their Ph.D. and another 5 staff members their M.Tech.
The department has 10 non-teaching staff members with 8 lab technicians, One Multimedia operator and One lab helper. 6 lab technicians are pursuing their B.Tech.,
The department is organizing a two-day national level Workshop “Sadhana-2k8” for technicians from various colleges on communication and VHDL programming.

OBJECTIVE
Progressing in the field of Technical Education, our two-day National workshop aims at opening new avenues and focuses on facilitating technicians to explore new horizons of technical knowledge from recent communication trends and VLSI technology. It is an excellent platform to demonstrate recent innovations, scientific and application oriented results in different branches of Engineering. This gathering, with multidimensional approach is a great opportunity for technicians to share their proficiency and promote their research and industrial skills.
