Springville Football

Welcome to Springville Football. We are looking forward to an enjoyable season. The goal of the Middle School Football team is to develop athletes that display model behavior both on and off the field. Players are expected to be focused during practice. They should support one another and help each other become better players. They should put the team ahead of individual goals and individual glory. They should demonstrate a mature attitude and handle both wins and losses with class. Equally as important are their actions in the classroom. Players are expected to maintain good grades and conduct themselves in a way that does not warrant reprimands from their classroom teachers.

Academics and Classroom Behavior

According the AHSAA, players must maintain at least a 70 average in their core classes to be eligible to play. If a player is referred to the School Administrators for any disciplinary reason, that player will not be allowed to play the 1st half of the next game. A 2nd infraction results in a 1 game suspension. A 3rd infraction will result in dismissal from the team.

Attendance and Preparedness

It is impossible to build a quality football program with players being unprepared and not consistently attending practice. All players must have the proper equipment in order to practice. We provide a pair of shoulder pads, a helmet, one mouth guard, and practice cloth. Players are encouraged to get their

own secondary pads (hip, butt, thigh, and knee). Each player will also need a wristband to hold the play cards, The cost is $10 and can be purchased at the field house. If a player does not have the proper equipment, they will not be allowed to practice and will need to call their parents for a ride home. If a player misses practice, but was at school, they will need to provide a legitimate excuse, such as getting sick, dr. appointment, etc…

Sportsmanship

Positive sportsmanship is an expectation not only from the players, but the coaches and parents as well. We expect our actions to bring respect and credit to the school, community, team, family, and individual.

Communication

Players or parents are encouraged to express concerns to one of the coaches at the proper time. These concerns will not be addressed during practice or game day. The safety of all players during games and practice is of the utmost importance. Therefore, parents are not allowed on the field at anytime. During games and practice, players should devote their full attention to the coaching staff.

Spirit Pack-The Spirit pack includes a Springville football shirt, a pair of shorts, and a pair of socks. The cost is $100.

We thank you in advance for your support of our Football team and look forward to a great season.
