Spring Musical Audition Permission Letter

WLMS Presents “The Good Doctor”

Audition Permission Letter 2017

STUDENTS: You will not be allowed to audition unless this signed letter is returned.

Students interested in being on the Stage Crew will not be required to

audition, but they must return a signed permission slip.

Dear Parents:

We are very excited that your child has expressed an interest in being a part of the 2017 Tiger Shark Theatre Company production of “The Good Doctor” by Neil Simon, to be presented December 15th and 16th in the WLMS Auditorium. By signing and returning this notice, you are giving your child permission to audition for a part in the show, or you are allowing your child to be considered for a position on the stage / technical crew. Please be aware that if your child is cast or asked to participate as part of the technical crew, rehearsal time outside of school hours will be required. It will be necessary for rides home to be arranged.

Once rehearsals begin, each participant can anticipate staying after school for 1-2 rehearsals each week until 4:30 / 5:00 p.m. As we move closer to the performance dates, students will be expected to attend rehearsals for the entire week, and possibly a few evenings the week prior to the show. We will make every effort to work accommodate other after-school commitments / conflicts as much as possible.

Interested students must be academically eligible passing all of their subjects at the time of the audition.

After considering all these matters, and if both you and your child are able to commit

to the schedule, please sign the attached form and have your child sign so he/she can

audition the week of Monday, September 18th. Students must sign up for EITHER Monday, September 18th OR Tuesday, September 19th for the first round of auditions. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, September 20th. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide advanced warning for the callbacks. Students will learn if they have been called back on the morning of Wednesday, September 20th. Please bear this in mind as you discuss this audition process with your child.

Please return the form on the next page by Friday, September 15th to the folder outside Ms. Rawlings’ room (212). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either Ms. Rawlings () or Mr. Kurstin (). We thank you for your interest & support, and look forward to a great show by our talented and enthusiastic Wilde Lake Middle School students.
