Spread the word about the Champions of Safety Sweepstakes

CGA, Shell and several CGA member-sponsors are working together to promote 811 through the“Champions of Safety” Sweepstakes effort. Beginning in July and running through Sept. 30, fans who visit facebook.com/Call811can enter to win a VIP trip for two to the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 10, including airfare, two nights’ hotel stay, $500 spending money, hospitality passes for the race, a tour of the Sprint Cup garage area, a meet and greet with Joey Logano (pending availability) and access to the Shell-Pennzoil Pit Box on Pit Road.

In addition to Shell, this sweepstakes is made possible by supporting sponsors Arizona 811, Citizens Energy, Dig Safely New York, Energy Transfer, Enterprise Products, Indiana 811, the Indiana Pipeline Awareness Association, MISS DIG System, the Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Pacific Gas & Electric, USIC and Vectren.

To help launch the Champions of Safety sweepstakes, driver Joey Logano will display the 811 logo on the decklid of his No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, courtesy of Shell,for the Quaker State 400 on July 11 as part of a weekend-long 811 takeover of the Kentucky Speedway. This effort is supported by Alabama 811, Duke Energy, Indiana 811, Kentucky 811, the Ohio Utilities Protection Service, the Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Tallgrass Energy and Team Construction.

Here are ways your organization can help spread the word about this exciting promotion:

  • Post a button to your website.Download the sweepstakes promotional button or the HTML codefrom the Champions of Safety section of the 811 toolkit on CGA’s website. The easiest way to display the button is to send the HTML code to your website administrator, who can then embed it onto your website’s homepage. The button will link to facebook.com/Call811where people can enter the sweepstakes. Be sure to remove the HTML button code after Sept. 30.
  • Distribute flyers. Download the sweepstakes promotional flyer from the Champions of Safetysection of the 811 toolkit on CGA’s website and distribute printed copies at events that your organization is participating in this summer, such as professional trainings, state and county fairs, parades, sports events, etc. You can also get the word out to internal audiences by posting the flyer to your intranet or making it available at meetings or in break rooms.
  • Send emails. Several customizable email templates are available for download from the Champions of Safety section of the 811 toolkit on CGA’s website, along with a suggested distribution schedule. Use these emails to let your employees, customers and other stakeholders know about the sweepstakes.
  • Post to social media accounts. Social media is another great way to spread the word about the sweepstakes – especially since it’s being hosted on the Call 811Facebook page.A suggested schedule of social media posts is available for download from the Champions of Safety section of the 811 toolkit on CGA’s website.
