To remind high school principals and registrars of the master schedule academic Dual Enrollment scheduling protocols established for data capturing purposes as related to High School Accountability
  • In a continued effort to support schools in their efforts to provide Dual Enrollment opportunities to students both on- and off- the high school campus, the Division of Mathematics, Science, and Advanced Academic Programs, in partnership with School Operations, the Office of Assessment, Research, and Data Analysis, and the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) Systems and Programming, reminds schools of the master scheduling protocols developed in order to facilitate the capturing of Dual Enrollment data that is essential when applying the High School Accountability formula for determining school grades.
  • Procedures for scheduling and following-up with students in Dual Enrollment courses offered on the high school campus during the school day include:
  • Add the Dual Enrollment courses to the Master Schedule. These courses must be active in the District's List of Authorized Courses.
  • On the Course Record screen (PF9), enter the post-secondary institution 4-digit code (List Attached and also found in the Current CB-1 List of AuthorizedCourses at the end of the Dual Enrollment section)in the Shared School (SHRD SCHL) field and Grade Responsibility (GRD RESP) code "A".
  • Enter section information including the following:
  • Period
  • Room number (Must correspond to a valid FISH room number)
  • Instructor's employee number
  • Teacher number
  • Teacher name
  • Enter the course(s) onto the students' schedules
  • It is very important that you verify the displayed 4-digit code in the Shared School (SHRD SCHL) field to make sure that it matches the institution from which the student will receive credit.
  • If after verifying the code, there is still an error or doubt, you may also access the institution name through ISIS, Option 3 - Curriculum Bulletin.
  • Procedures for scheduling students in Dual Enrollment courses offered on the high school campus after school (outside the Bell Schedule) include:
  • On the Course Record Screen (PF9), enter the post-secondary institution 4-digit code in the Shared School (SHRD SCHL) field and Grade Responsibility (GRD RESP) code "A".
  • Enter section information including the following:
  • Period - The period(s) would be added to the end of the regular school day. Ex: Periods for the regular day are 01-06. Begin the Dual Enrollment periods with 07, 08, etc...
  • Room Number (Must correspond to a valid FISH room number)
  • Instructor's employee number
  • Teacher number
  • Teacher name
  • Enter the course(s) onto the students' schedules
  • Procedures for scheduling and following-up with students in Dual Enrollment courses offered on College or University campuses include:
  • On the Course Record screen (PF9), enter the post-secondary institution 4-digit code (List Attached) in the Shared School (SHRD SCHL) field and Grade Responsibility (GRD RESP) code "A". As these courses are not taught in a M-DCPS facility, the Facility Type must be changed to "09" to allow room numbers that are not on the FISH file to be entered into ISIS.
  • Enter section information including the following:
  • Period - The period(s) would be added to the end of the regular school day. Ex: Periods for the regular day are 01-06. Begin the Dual Enrollment periods with period 07, 08, etc.

  • Please be reminded that in the Student Progression Plan, a report card code #27 is available and states the following: Dual Enrollment course grade will only be posted at the end of the semester. Schools are encouraged to include this code at the end of the 1st and 3rd nine-week periods.
