What is the Cornwall Community Foundation?

The Cornwall Community Foundation manages and distributes funding on behalf of individuals, companies, charitable trusts and statutory agencies to meet needs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, making their communities better places to live.

TheCrisis Fund is to benefit people in crisis who are urgently in need of small, one-off amounts of money. Grants (or top-ups) normally are made up to £250 to charitable organisations and agencies throughout Cornwall.

What needs to be complete?

We require records to be kept of grants made to individuals so that we can report back to our donors. A standard form will be supplied which we ask you to complete attaching relevant copy receipts. Where it has not been possible to obtain receipts the beneficiary must sign a simple document, also supplied by us, to confirm receipt of their grant. This is a condition for all top-ups being made. In the unlikely situation that none of this information is available a written explanation from your organisation will be required before any further top-up requests are considered.

How much is awarded and how often?

Recipients of grants (organisations) submit these records to us and request a top-up of funds once their balance falls to £50.00 or less. Owing to limited means no more than four requests a year from the same organisation will be considered except in exceptional circumstances.

Small amounts of money, usually £30 or less to a maximum of £90 can be made available to the people who use your organisation’s services when there is a need for help urgently, to alleviate destitution or poverty. If a request is received for an amount exceeding this you must contact us so the advisory panel can consider the specific circumstances before any commitment is made to the beneficiary.
