  1. Any shuttle that lands on a line, whether a serve or during play, is good.
  1. If the shuttle is hit into the net and sticks it is a let and the serve and point are redone.

Badminton Etiquette

  • All line calls should be made quickly and fairly
  • If the shuttle comes in to your court, toss it back to court where it belongs or if across another court, set behind endline
  • If your shuttle goes into another court, walk around the baseline to retrieve it

SCOUTING THE BADMINTON COMPETITION

As we run a scrimmage with flights (fights 1 & 2, flights 3 & 4, flights 5 & 6) you will be analyzing the play of your opponents. Watch their games, note their habits, and ask yourself a series of questions that will help you play them "smarter".

Here are some questions you might want to start with, but feel free to create and answer your own.

  • What are their strengths?
  • What type of shots might they be vulnerable to?
  • Where might you place your serve for each person?
  • What will be your strategy for defeating them (push to back of court, drop shot into front of court, etc)

Your coach will guide you through discussion both before and after the scrimmage to assist you in preparing for your competition.
