The Alabama Transportation Planners Association’s (ATPA) Annual Conference will be at the Hilton Garden Inn, 171 Hospitality Ln, Dothan Al, 36303, in Dothan Alabama April 7- 8, 2016. Please consider sponsoring this event. Gold sponsors are encouraged to exhibit their projects during the Social April 7th.

Sponsors are given complimentary conference registrations, as well as advertising on the website, conference program and welcome sign. This is an excellent opportunity to display your innovative projects and interact with transportation planners throughout the state. The ATPA is a non-profit organization and pledges can be used as a tax write-off.

If you plan to be a bronze or silver sponsor you may send one person to the conference free,for gold sponsors two people may attend free. Overview of Alabama’s first Slide-in Bridge project, the Ross Clark Circle in Dothan, AL. He will be going over the procedures used for the temporary shoring, temporary supports and the slide in process.

This presentation gives attendees a complete overview of what an ADA Transition Plan is, who is required to prepare one, when it’s supposed to be completed and, most importantly, how to undertake the daunting task of evaluating everything owned. Participants will leave with specific items to resolve to get the process in place.

Update on the new transportation bill planning requirements including new planning factors, bicycle and pedestrian planning, the National Highway System and upcoming livability initiatives. A short discussion on planning and environmental linkages PEL and how and why it may be important that MPOs in the State develop a process for certain types of projects. Changes in the STIP and TIP amendment processes, how it’s working, monitoring projects through the planning process until it is constructed.
