SPIRITUAL GIFTS - Wagner-Modified Houts Questionnaire

This guide in discovering your spiritual gifts should not be viewed as a test. The only right answers here are honest answers. The answers you provide will help you find your areas of strength within the realm of Christian service.

There are 4 handouts to this questionnaire:

(1) This sheet (2) Questionnaire (3) Answer Sheet (4) Spiritual Gifts List

I. Questionnaire

Go through the list of 125 statements on the questionnaire. For each one, mark on the Answer Sheet to what extent the statement is true of your life:

MUCH = 3, SOME = 2, LITTLE = 1, or NOT AT ALL = 0.

II. Scoring

1. On the Answer Sheet, total up your scores for each row, and write that total in the Total box. After adding up your points, you should have several notably high scores. These are your probable spiritual gifts.

2. Refer to the Spiritual Gifts List and fill in the names of the spiritual gifts according to their corresponding row in the Answer Sheet. The description of the spiritual gifts and biblical verses are detailed in the list.

3. Please

a. Indicate your three highest-score gifts in the “Dominant” section

b. Indicate your next three highest-score gifts in the “Subordinate” section

Dominant / Subordinate

There could be 3 or more gifts with the same high scores, feel free to indicate them as well

4. Share and discuss with your group the following questions:

a. Do you think these are the gifts you have? Why or why not? Are there any surprises?

b. Do others affirm the same things in or about you (especially if there are people who know you in the group)?

c. How do you think you can exercise these gifts?

III. Next Steps

You have just taken the first step toward discovering your spiritual gifts. Please understand that this exercise only indicates your probable gifts.

·  Pray, believing that God will continue to reveal to you what gifts He has given you. Don't forget 1 Corinthians 12:11. Gifts have been distributed "to each individual."

·  Pray also for the wisdom and desire to use your gifts for God’s kingdom.
