SETTING THETRAJECTORY

Aim high…as in toptier!Setting thetrajectory to become a top50research and medicaluniversity meansconsistently aiminghigh, and not just at the top level of the organization.It takes the entire workforce,at alllevels of theorganization, making good decisions in our everyday work, day in and dayout.Highly functioningorganizations understand this and recognizeindividuals for doing it.

Eligibility:

  • Nominee must beemployed at the Augusta University or AU Health for a full year
  • Nominee must not have disciplinary actions on file

With privilege comes responsibility.Aspublicemployeeswehaveanobligationtothetaxpayerandthestate ofGeorgiatomakesoundfinancialdecisions.Ouractionscandirectlyimpact the economicviabilityofthestate.We shouldneverlosesightofthat.

P =Prevention:Raising Awareness

Consistentmessagingshouldreinforcetheexpectation foremployees to “do the right thing.”When someone fallsshort of thisexpectationtherewill be consequences – consequencesthat are readily apparenttoeveryone.

I =Integrity:BuildingaCultureofEthicalBehavior

Thereisnoroomformentaldebate.Ethicaldecision making shouldbeso engrainedintheworkculture thatemployeesknowwhattodoinstinctively. A value-driven work environment is intrinsically rewarding.

R =Responsibility: Upholding OurDuty to Report

Suspectedmalfeasancemustbereported.Knowthe requirements.Don’t be complicit by yoursilence.

I =Inspiration:Leading by Example

Forget about lip service. It’s not just about meeting compliance standards…rather, it’sabout exerting moralleadership in everyday decisionsin ways that will inspire others to act accordingly. An inspiring leaderembracesguidingprinciplesforthegreatergood.Theirdecisionsareperceivedasfair,evenif unpopular.
