The Role
Avacta Group are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic IT Support and Web Development Technician to join our team on a permanent basis. The focus of the role is to provide day to day IT support for users and infrastructure across the Group, supporting both internal and external customers and to adopt ownership of the company website (Wordpress, PHP & Laravel). For applicants with the desire and aptitude there will be opportunities to become involved in system integration and development.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

·  Answering day to day support requests in person, via email or on the telephone.

·  Supporting Microsoft technologies such as Windows Client/Server especially Hyper-V, Office 365 and SQL Server.

·  Support and development of the Avacta Animal Health Corporate websites.

·  Support core business systems such as servers, routers, switches, printers and network connectivity.

·  Assist in the configuration of IT systems such as servers and new software rollouts.

·  Hardware support for desktops and laptops.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Essential attributes:

·  Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Office) with Microsoft MCP certification (desirable).

·  Working knowledge of Wordpress and PHP. Knowledge of Laravel would be particularly beneficial.

·  Strong knowledge of computer hardware.

·  The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, care, accuracy and reliability.

·  Adaptability and self-motivation, good team player.

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·  A bold and innovative nature and a desire to be fully involved in driving the growth of the business.

Desirable attributes:

·  Experience working in an IT support environment.

·  Exposure to virtualisation technologies such as Windows HyperV or VMWare

·  Virtualisation related certification e.g. VMware VCP, MS 74-409.

·  Experience with MacOS systems.

·  Software development skills (C#/SQL/ASP.net/WinForms/WPF).
