SWBAT choose a current environmental problem in the Amazon, research possible solutions, and create an informative commercial about the problem and possible solution.
Infomercial includes the following:
Beginning:
- Problem is stated with background information and the following questions are answered:
- Why should viewers be concerned? Does it affect us in some way?
- What do the viewers have to know about the problem in order to understand it fully?
- What damage has this problem already done?
Middle:
- State what is currently being done to help with the problem and include:
- Who is helping the problem?
- What part of the Amazon is trying to help?
- Has there been any improvement using this solution?
End:
- Explain your solution based on research and include:
- Why do you think your solution will work? (Where is it working?)
- Does your solution affect everyday life of individuals in a certain are?
- Will there be any effect on economy? (hiring extra security, etc.)
- How will you convince people to join your cause and conform to the boundaries of your solution?
Students will hand in their written script with all sources cited and in the order above. The script should include all of the information in your infomercial. It serves as a guide to your infomercial.
