Class 2.BEST RIDER ON LEAD REIN/ FIRST RIDDEN

Riders on lead rein may not enter other classes off the lead rein.

No age limit.Judged on performance and manners. No cantering or jumping. Non lead competitors may be accompanied.

QUALIFIER –DAVY’S LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT/EQUIFEST SHOW PONY LEAD REIN. Leading rein pony, mare or gelding, 4 yrs old and over, not exceeding 128cm. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

QUALIFER – SNUGGY HOODS/EQUIFEST SHOW PONY FIRST RIDDEN. First ridden pony, mare or gelding, 4 yrs old and over, not exceeding 128cm. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.

QUALIFIER – CAVERNOMA ALLIANCE UK/EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEAD REIN. Open to mountain and moorland ponies registered with their respective pure bred societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cm. Rider not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

QUALIFIER –NATHAN ARNOLD SHOW TEAM/EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND FIRST RIDDEN. Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.

Judged on turn-out of horse and rider, suitability and manners.

Class 4.RIDING HORSE – RIDDEN

QUALIFER – NUPAFEED/EQUIFEST RIDING HORSES. Open Riding Horse,Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, any height, rider any age. Class maybe divided as follows:

Small Riding Horse – exceeding 148cm but no exceeding 158cm

Large Riding Horse – exceeding 158cm

This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground.The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.

Qualifiers for Equifest 2017 will run to 31st July 2017.

Qualifiers after 31st July 2017 will be qualifiers for the 2018 show.

QUALIFIER –SPILLERS / EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN HAND. Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.

Class 8.COLOURED HORSE/PONY - IN HAND

QUALIFIER - BSPA/EQUIFEST IN HAND PIEBALD/SKEWBALD. Open inhand Piebald/Skewbald stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championships (subject to their show rules and conditions.

LUNCH BREAK(Class 9 not before 12.30pm)

Class 9.CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE – RIDDEN

Judged purely on the elegance of the equine/rider combination including the way of going of horse/pony, can be either Traditional or Costume but not Fancy Dress. Safe tack must be used. No individual show is required. Lead Rein permitted but handler must dress accordingly. All riders must wear headgear to current safety standards

Class 10.MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND - RIDDEN

QUALIFIER – THE HEWITT FAMILY / EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND. Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales,Dartmoor,Exmoor,Fell,Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A,B,C and D. Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.

Class 11.COLOURED HORSE/PONY - RIDDEN

QUALIFIER – QUALIFIER – BSPA/EQUIFEST RIDDEN PIEBALD/SKEWBALD. Open ridden Piebald/Skewbald stallion, mare, or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championships subject to their show rules and conditions.

‘BPS Cream of the Crop Championship’ open to All horses whom have a cream diluted colour i.e. cremello, buckskin,

palomino, lemon and white, perlino, palomino spotted etc.The series and final will be open to all; there is no need for membership or registration with the BPS. Qualification is simple, the 2 highest placed Cream Dilutes in the qualifying class go through to the final.

The 2017 final will be held at the BPS National Championships at Three Counties Showground on 9th July 2017.

Qualifiers after this will go forward to the 2018 final.

Class 12.ODD COLOURED HORSE/PONY - IN HAND

For Palamino/Dun/Spotted/Roan etc (No Skewbald or Piebald)

Qualifier for British Palomino Society Cream of the Crop

Class13.VETERAN HORSE/PONY – IN HAND

18 years and over. Judged on performance, manners and condition.

Competitors can enter as many times as they want(only your highest score goes forward to the prize allocation). Any riding bit is acceptable. (No double bridles).

Full dressage attire is not required.

RULES

THE JUDGES AND ORGANISERS DECISIONS ARE FINAL

  1. It is a condition that upon entering the showground that everyone agrees to abide by the club’s rules and regulations.
  2. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from any accident, damage, loss, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators or any person or property whatsoever.
  3. The schedule will run as printed unless exceptional circumstances prevail when any alteration will be at the sole discretion of the organisers. No entry fee will be refunded unless the class is cancelled.
  4. The organisers reserve the right to amend or alter any classes with insufficient entries.
  5. Correct dress & footwear to be worn when competing. All riders must wear headgear to current safety standards at all times when mounted. Riding hats must be worn by all junior handlers (17 years and under). It is strongly recommended that body protectors are worn over or under riding jackets.
  6. Riders competing on the lead rein may not competitively enter any other classes off the lead rein.
  7. Whips and spurs are not permitted in gymkhana games and in all classes in ring 4.
  8. Excessive use of whip or spurs will not be permitted and may result in expulsion from the showground.
  9. The practise jump is to be jumped from one direction only and is only for the use of riders entering the jumping classes. It is not to exceed the height of jumps in the class in progress.
  10. Any horse or pony considered unfit by the organisers may be asked to leave the showground.
  11. Any objection must be made to the secretary within 15 minutes of the incident occurring. A deposit of £20.00 must be submitted which will be returned if the objection is sustained.
  12. All vehicles parked at owner’s risk.
  13. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  14. Height restrictions will be enforced and passport verification will be requested.

The UK Riders Challenge is a national competition series aimed at unaffiliated combinations of horse and rider. It gives every day riders the chance to compete for national glory in dressage and show jumping. The aim is simple – to help you enjoy your horse more!
The Challenge has a three-tier competition structure. Local qualifiers are held at centres around the country fromSeptember 1st 2016until the 31st May 2017.
