/ Morgan Stern – Technical Rider

Space requirements

The minimum stage size required for this production is 6.5 metres wide and 4.5 metre deep. The area must be clear of any columns or other obstructions.

The stage floor must be flat, level, solid and without any holes, traps or gaps.

Minimum height between the floor and the lighting grid is 4 metres.

The stage can be thrust or proscenium but not in the round.

The backwall can be bare brick or a black drape.

The set design requires a mirror to be hung up against the back wall.

This can be done by suspending the mirror but it must hang against the backwall. Alternatively it can be hung from sturdy wall anchors in the wall.

The only other scenic element is a chair.

Back of House

A minimum of two dressing rooms must be provided. Each must have decent chairs, a make-up bench or table, a mirror with incandescent lighting and a clothes rack with coat hangers. At least one dressingroom must have a shower facility.

The back of house area must have toilets separate from audience accessible areas.

Production

Audio.

All sound effects will be run from Qlab on a production provided Macbook computer. The output from the computer will use Firewire to connect to the house audio system through an interface like the Motu 828 or similar.

The house system must consist of a minimum of 4 speakers in a surround sound configuration. Speakers for all channels to be equal or better than Meyer UPM-1P and suitable for the venue size. An additional subwoofer will greatly enhance the audio quality and should be suitable for the venue size.

Lighting.

The lighting rig is adaptable and the following list is only an indication of minimal requirements.

Lighting desk: ETC Ion or similar

Dimmers: 24 x 2kW channels

Luminaires:

10 x 1.2kW Fresnel (or PC but not mixed) with barndoors

16 x 650W Fresnel with barndoors

8 x 1kW Zoom profiles (24 / 44 range)

2 x 1kW Zoom profiles (18 / 36 range)

All luminaires to have gel frames and appropriate hookclamps, safety bonds, etc.

All lighting equipment will be rigged above the stage area, there will be no lights on the floor or on booms.

The ‘mirror’ has a lightbox behind it which requires power and DMX.
