Kay Atwood Presidential Interviewing Project#004
Introduction and Scope Note
This collection was donated by Kay Atwood, a prominent local historian and experienced interviewer. On October 11th, 1978 Atwood entered an agreement with the college to interview past and present professors of then Southern Oregon State College. Dates of interviews ranged from 10/19/1978 to 2/21/1980. The interviews covered the professors’ education, post-graduate experience, background and personal life, and their views on SOSC. Interviews lasted approximately 2 hours and were conducted at the interviewee’s home.
The collection consists of two boxes. Box one contains the initial contract entered by Atwood and the college arranging the interviews, along with fourteen files of typed transcripts of the interview itself. Many of the files also contain the contract between Atwood and the interviewee, photos and/or newspaper clippings related to the interviewee, and duplicate transcripts of the interview.
Box two contains the 21 original cassette recordings of the interviews.
