Southeastern Indiana Swim Association Championship

SANCTION: / Non-SanctionedHOST: / Decatur County Tiger Sharks Swim Team. Each team in the conference has been assigned areas of responsibility that will ensure a successful meet for everyone without being a burden on anyone. Any questions, complaints, or problems should be addressed through the team representative so that resolution may be achieved.

FACILITY: / 25 yard indoor pool, 6 lane course with Wave Eater lane lines, electronic timing system with touch pads, backup buttons, electronic horn/strobe light start, electronic display scoreboard, and Hy-Tek Meet Manager for Windows software. Water depth at start end: 10’, water depth at turn end: 3’ 6”.
Adequate spectator seating is available. Camping area for swimmers will be provided.
The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4).
ELIGIBILITY: / All swimmers must be bona fide members of their respective club as described in SEISA rules and must have participated in at least 50 % of their club meets within the conference regular season.
COACHES: / Each team will receive 6 heat sheets for the morning session and 4 heat sheets for afternoon session.
RULES: / Current USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet.
In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces except as provided in USA Swimming Rule 205.10.1. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knees, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee.
Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.
MEET FORMAT: / All events will be timed finals.
ENTRIES: / Each swimmer is limited to four (4) individual events and two (2) relays. Swimmers may swim up in age for an event but may not duplicate a stroke and distance in different age groups. Each team may enter up to five (5) swimmers in each individual event and one relay team per event. Each team may enter one (1) alternate for each individual event ant that entry shall be clearly marked as “alternate” on the entry.
ENTRY DEADLINE: / The final deadline for entries to be received will be Wednesday, July 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm. Revisions to prior entries will be accepted electronically until 8:00am July 6th. Psych sheets will be sent out to coaches by 5:00pm, Sunday, July 3rd. Please be considerate of other teams and coaches and adhere to these entry deadlines. Deck entries will not be accepted. Teams are strongly encouraged to submit their entries electronically. Email entries will be accepted and are encouraged. Email entries may be sent as an attachment to .
ENTRY FEE: / Each team will be responsible for their share of awards.
CLERK OF COURSE: / Each team is responsible for their own clerk of course.
OFFICIALS: / _(being finalized) _ will be the Meet Referee. Starters and officials are to be provided by the participating teams. Each team will be contacted in advance of the meet to arrange officials. Officials are to be USA Swimming-certified. Teams may provide additional timers in lieu of officials, but this swapping shall be done before the meet so that all positions are filled.
TIMERS/RUNNERS: / Each team is to provide five (5) timers per session. This will allow for a rotation to be established by the timers of each team. Two of the timers will be assigned the job of Head Timer and two of the “timers” will serve as runners for the scoring table. The meet will be run using lane timer sheets. It would be preferred that all timers and runners be adults.
AWARDS: / Medals will be awarded for individual events 1st – 6th place. Ribbons will be awarded for individual events 7th -12th place. Medals will be awarded to the first place relay team with ribbons for 2nd – 7th place relay teams. Team trophies will be given to the first and second place teams. Medals will be mailed or delivered to each team after meet is complete.

CONCESSIONS: / A concession stand will be available for spectators and participants. Additionally, a swim shop will be available in the concession area. Conference T-shirts will be available.
TEAM AREA: / Camping areas will be available in the school commons/cafeteria area. Teams are asked to please keep this area clean during the meet. Please pick up your area when you leave. Please report major spills, etc. to a DCTS parent so janitorial equipment may be obtained to assist the cleanup. Each team shall provide at least one parent per session to maintain order in the camping area.
