Notice of Annual General Meeting – Thursday20 February 2014 at 6pm

The AGM will take place at 6.00 p.m at the offices of Veale Wasbrough Vizards, OrchardCourt,OrchardLane,Bristol,BS1 5WS.Only members of the Association may attend the AGM.

We have a large and active committee but always require new blood to ensure that new ideas and contacts filter through the organization. Don’t be shy. Please stand for a position. The committee meets approximately every month either in the morning or in the early evening and we try to allocate tasks evenly. A short description of the positions is set out below. We also need several General Committee members.

PLEASE NOTE:

Members will be able to vote by Proxy if unable to attend the AGM in person. Should you wish to take advantage of this option please complete, sign and return the proxy form attached to Jo Williams at the details given below.

Vice Chairman

Assisting the Chairman in her role at branch level and attending some of the national committee meetings to get a grounding in national WiP policy, prior to taking over as a branch chairman.

Treasurer

Keeping the books to show income (branch levy and income from events) and expenditure. Operating the bank account. Preparing financial reports for the branch committee meetings and AGM.

Secretary

Taking minutes at branch committee meetings and the AGM. Coordinating the central spreadsheet of events for the area event coordinators.

Membership Secretary

Liaising with Lara Fahey the National Administrator, on new members and renewals. Dealing with local membership enquiries. Keeping the names and addresses up to date and coordinating follow-up of non-renewals.

Events coordinators

Responsible for co-coordinating a varied mix of events for branch. To assist and liaise with committee members and members for the organisation of events in their area. To coordinate membership enquiries at an Area level and liaise with membership secretary feeding back non-member event attendees and enquiries.

Roadshow Co-ordinator

Responsibility for coordinating with schools and colleges to promote the property industry and Women in Property at careers events and open days.

Student Awards Co-ordinator

Responsibility for coordinating with Universities to promote the Women in Property Student Awards and coordination of the judging event and local requirements for the national finals.

Publicity Officer

Sending out press releases, keeping record of press coverage, sending copies of coverage to the national committee and dealing with sponsorship opportunities.

Website Co-ordinator

Responsibility to ensure thebranch information on the website is current.Tasks include uploading flyersfor branch events and reviews from eventsonto the website.

General Committee Member

Attending monthly meetings and sharing ideas for events with other committee members. Organising or assisting to organise events, helping to promote the Association generally. Assisting some of the Officer roles to share workload.

Being on your local branch committee is fun and extremely rewarding! In 2013we had a committee of 18 which made for lively meetings and shared the burden of the tasks.

If you are interested in helping us to build on past successes, do come along and offer you support. We are always looking for enthusiastic members to take on specific roles within the committee.
