The next meeting of South Hykeham Parish Council will be held on Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 7.00 pm in South Hykeham Village Hall. Meetings usually take place on the second Wednesday of the month apart from August and December when there are no meetings. All residents welcome.

Neighbourhood Plan

Meetings with North Hykeham Town Council are ongoing in order to progress the adoption of a Neighbourhood Plan and it has now been submitted to North Kesteven District Council prior to local consultation. South Hykeham Parish Council grants and donations

The Parish Council has made provision in the budget for 2017/18 to award small grants/donations to financially support community organisations, particularly where there is a quantifiable benefit to the residents or the village’s facilities. St Michael’s and All Angels Church
Church Services:
Holy Communion at 11.15 am on 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
Morning Service at 11.15 am on 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month
When there is a 5th Sunday there will be a joint Service at 10.30 am for all three churches in the parish with a rotation of venues. There will be no other Services on that day.

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Residents of Lincolnshire can contact Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for a Home Safety Check to make your home safer for you and your family. This can either be done by completing an online DIY safety check or if you ring on 01522 580397 they will send you a hardcopy booklet to go through at home and which provides advice and information on how to keep your home safe. If you fit into a high risk category which is identified via the online form, email or telephone they will arrange to visit to carry out a Home Safety Check Visit and give you any advice or information that you need. If you do not already have at least one working and properly positioned smoke alarm you will have one fitted free of charge by their staff before they leave your home.

Observation of speed limits There are ongoing problems with vehicles not observing the speed limits in South Hykeham and the surrounding area. The Police and Road Safety Partnership are aware with some monitoring of observance of speed limits taking place.

The Parish Council is currently awaiting delivery of a Reactive Speed Sign purchased under the Lincolnshire Community Speedwatch initiative. In the meantime there will be regular monitoring of speed limits throughout South Hykeham particularly on Thorpe Lane, Boundary Lane and in the vicinity of South Hykeham Community Primary School.
