CLASSES FOR NON WELSH PONIES

SEWPCA – RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1.  Competitors must ensure that they hold adequate third party insurance cover in respect of any accident caused by themselves, their family or helpers, their vehicles or animals when on the showground.

2.  THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL.

3.  The organisers, owners of the showground, or any of the committee, officers, servants or assistants shall not in any way be responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage that may happen (for any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their assistants or any member of the public, to any animal or property or to any vehicle brought on to the showground, or any premises used in conjunction with or arising out of or attainable to the show. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrant or spectator shall indemnify the show organisers against such matters aforesaid.

4.  Everyone in attendance at this event must abide by the instructions given by officials.

5.  WPCS Rules & NPS Rules will apply to applicable classes. Please ensure you are familiar with these rules before signing the entry form.

6.  All ridden ponies must be four years old and over and registered in their respective stud books, including Part Breds. Competitors are reminded that it is a legal requirement for passports to be carried when transporting ponies. Riders of Small Stallions must have attained their 12th birthday and Riders of Large Stallions must have attained their 14th Birthday.

7.  All objections must be lodged with the Secretary within 30 minutes of the disputed event and confirmed in writing, with a deposit of £20. This will be returned should the objection be upheld. Please note: No Judge may be approached directly regarding an objection.

8.  Entry fees will only be refunded at the discretion of the committee. Should the show be cancelled for whatever reason, SEWPCA reserve the right to retain 25% of the entry fees to cover administration cost.

9.  No clearing out of Horse Boxes/ Trailers, etc. is allowed on the showground, this includes any litter.

10.  Anyone displaying aggressive, rude or threatening behaviour towards judges, show officials or other competitors will be immediately ejected from the showground, banned from future SEWPCA shows and if a SEWPCA member, their membership will be cancelled forthwith with no right of appeal and without refund of any entries or subscriptions.

11.  The Committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without giving reason, to change judges or to amalgamate/split classes if entries warrant.

12.  All entries must be fully registered in their section of the Welsh Stud Book, or their respective breed societies, with the exception of Foals, which must however be eligible for registration. All foals must be at least 3 weeks old.

13.  All ponies and cobs must comply with the WPCS height limits.

14.  All colts and stallions must comply with the WPCS rules. This includes ridden stallions.

15.  An exhibitor may not enter a pony in any class which is to be judged by a person who has bred, sold, leased, produced or has had any financial gain from that animal.

16.  All exhibits will enter and leave the ring at a walk.

17.  Hard hats must be worn at all times when mounted on the showground and be to BSEN1384 or PAS015 standards. No top hats allowed, and suitable footwear must be worn.

18.  We advise you to wear body protectors.

19.  No Spurs allowed.

20.  No whips or canes to exceed 75cms (30 inches).

21.  No plaiting in any class (except for small plait behind the ear), with the exception of the Part-Bred ponies where plaiting is optional.

22.  Trophies will only be awarded to fully paid up members of SEWPCA and must be signed for and returned in the same condition upon request. PLEASE NOTE: Trophies will only be awarded to competitors who are members of SEWPCA .

23.  All dogs must be kept on leads.

24.  If you are asked by a committee member or SEWPCA staff to move your vehicle for any reason, please do so as failure to do this will result in it being towed off the showground.

This Show is affiliated to the Equifest Showing Show, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 14th-18th August, 2013. The TWO highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. Classes include all the Welsh Section Inhand pure breed classes, the Open Ridden M & M, Lead Rein and First Ridden M & M (open classes) and Ridden Part-Breds.

This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society. In all its in hand pure Welsh breed classes there are special conditions allowed. The NPS /Kilmannan Inhand Silver Medal rosette is being awarded at this show to the Welsh champion and owners of this champion can win a Silver medal rosette even if they are not members of the NPS but they must become NPS qualifying or life members to enter the final. We are running dedicated Picton and Ringside classes for pure Welsh ponies, and the same critera applies . We are however also running mixed classes with NPS judges for the WHP classes, and other flat ridden classes, which carry normal qualification with the NPS. The overall ridden NPS/The Minns M & M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette will be contested by both the pure welsh and the mixed. Both Critera’s will apply in this championship. Full NPS ruling will apply.

CLASS 13a SECTION A YOUNGSTOCK CHAMPIONSHIP. The SEWPCA Trophy will be awarded

to the Champion. Champion & Reserve to compete for Supreme Youngstock Championship of

Show.

Class 13b Welsh Section A Gelding Championship. 1st and 2nd prise winners from classes 3 and class 13 to come forward to compete for this. Champion and Reserve in this championship qualify for the NEW National Welsh SARUM INVESTMENT Ltd Gelding Championship.

CLASS 13c SECTION A CHAMPIONSHIP. The ERIMUS TROPHY will be awarded to Champion. Champion & Reserve to Compete for Supreme Championship of Show. The Welsh Pony & Cob Society Silver Medal has been very kindly sponsored by the BLISLAND STUD.. The Welsh Pony and Cob Society Silver Medal To Champion or Reserve(in accordance with WPCS medal rules). The Champion & Reserve Champion Welsh Section A will qualify for the NATIONAL SUPREME BRIGHTWELLS SEC A INHAND CHAMPIONSHIP.

FOAL: Winners of the A, B, C, D & P/B Foal classes to compete for the BABYLON Trophy.

BROOD MARE: Winners of A, B, C, D & P/B Brood Mare classes to compete for the CAE COED

SALVER.

STALLION: Highest placed Stallions of A, B, C, D & P/B classes to compete for the DANAWAY Supreme

Stallion Trophy.

BARREN MARE: Highest placed Barren Mares of A, B, C, D & P/B classes to compete for the LADYSDEN

trophy.

SUPREME WELSH YOUNGSTOCK CHAMPIONSHIP:

Youngstock Champions from Sections A, B, C, D and Part Bred to compete for the SUPREME YOUNGSTOCK SHIELD.

SUPREME WELSH IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP:

Champions and Reserves from Sec A, B, C, D & Part Breds and Supreme Youngstock and Reserve to compete for the BALLAN SHIELD together with a flower Garland presented by our rosette producers, J B Rosettes.

The Supreme Inhand Championship. Champions and Reserves of the four Welsh sections of the Welsh inhand WPCS Silver Medal classes(No Welsh Part Breds are allowed to compete for this award) to compete for the NPS/Kilmannan Stud M & M Inhand Silver Medal Rosette Championships.

The NPS / Picton M&M Novice Ridden National Championship

A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following:

i) Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class

ii) Won a class at an Olympia, Horse of the Year Show or RIHS qualifying round

iii) Qualified for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS Ridden classes

iv) Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship

show (NB Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive year provided

they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year)

v) Qualified for the M&M Ridden Championship final at Olympia in previous years

vi) If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS in its second year it is immediately denoviced

and cannot compete in the Picton Final.

Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit.
