I wrote this song while on a visit to Kaua'i in 1980. I lived on O'ahu atthe time but had lived on Kaua'i in the 70's and dreamed of moving back again.That is why you may have heard the original end of the chorus sung:“I love Kaua'i....she will call me home again one day”. Because I live on Kaua'i now, and have for many years, I sing, “I'm glad to be right here today”, and “My home sweet home Kaua'i nei”.
