The rule in use at that time was - anyone coming to school smelling like a skunk was sent home for the day, because of the pupils and teachers complaints. But this mornng a dozen fellows must have caught skunks - the whole school smelled so bad everyone was immune to the odor, so we had to stay for classes.

Fondest Memory of High School Days: None outstanding. At this age; the full two years that I was privileged to spend in the Class of 1929.
Most Humorous Incident in High School: Our football games and my participation in these games. The formation of the SHS High School Band; when they played - they could not march; when they marched --- they played??? "THE DISCORDANT SYMPHONY". My brave speech on Prohibition.
Comments: How brave to ask Lloyd Weil such a question. What can you say to your contemporaries who have endured the trials of a major depression, the devastation of a world conflict and a succession of equally devastating "Police Actions"; experienced the most rapid technological advancement since time began, graduating from practically the buggy age into jets and rockets to the moon; who have had the far flung extents of the world cast into their back yards. Since we cannot brag about our ability to meet these changes, and certainly must realize that we are not turning over a very stable society to our posterity, we can exhibit a firm faith in those who follow that they can and will prevail. In the current vernacular, let us "Keep the Faith, Baby". MAN WILL PREVAIL. GOD HAS WILLED IT.
So now you know.

High School Song
Sons and daughters true and loyal
Join our song of cheer.
For our dear old High School royal
As we gather here,
We are filled with praises tender
And remembrances dear,
Ere our voices will defend her
Raised in accent clear.
Oh we love our dear old High School
And our classmates, too,
Red and White shall be our emblem
Life's dark pathway through.
In our hearts are memories woven
By the passing year,
Friendships ties will ne'er be broken
Formed in S. H.S.
When we leave thy well know portals
Never to return,
We will ne'er forget thy teachings
Be we far or near
When life's trials dark assail us
Right shall lead us on,
By the help of memories
And by God alone.
