Full Description of Vacancy / The role of first line technician is an important one. You will work as part of Graphic IT Support Team and often be in a situation which requires you to troubleshoot and assess technical issues, aim to provide a technical support service, and resolve problems yourself where possible.
Main duties and responsibilities include: assisting in the preparation of hardware and software for IT use, assist in routine maintenance, cleaning, backing-up systems and monitoring computer use, to assist in the staffing of the physical helpdesk providing a face to face service and low-level technical support service giving excellent and helpful service at all times, to assist in the maintenance of equipment and resources including routine electrical safety checks, assistance in servicing and undertaking repairs. / Mandatory - The full description gives a much richer and more detailed summary of the role and can therefore be more elaborate than the short description. About the Candidate
Skills Required / Our ideal apprentice will have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. We will be looking for great ICT skills. Including knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will have good communication skills so as to be able to deal with your colleagues, pupils and staff in a polite and friendly manner. / Whilst these fields are optional it is strongly recommended that any expectations are stated. This will result in the most suitable Candidates applying for your vacancy.
Qualifications Required / We would prefer candidates to have GCSE’s grade C or above to include Maths, English and ICT (or equivalent).
Personal Qualities / Personal qualities should include: being able to use own initiative; being proactive, diligent and creative; work well in a team; be organise, curious and a problem solver and logical thinker; and have a good sense of humour.

Important Other Information / "The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour and will increase to £3.40/hour from 1 October 2016. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training."
