BID PROPOSAL

Your firm is invited to submit a bid for the following project:

Museum Fence

Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) are encouraged to respond to this solicitation.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project consists of the CONTRACTOR providing all labor, material, equipment, insurance and services necessary for removal; and to supply and install the chain link fence and gate at Somers Cove Marina, Crisfield, Somerset County, Maryland. The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for any and all permits and inspections required by Somerset County and the State of Maryland.

SCOPE OF WORK

  1. REMOVAL

The CONTRACTOR shall be fully responsible for removal and disposal of 234’ of Chain Link Fence necessary to complete this project.

a)Fence posts are to be cut 3” below ground level and covered with a minimum of 3” of topsoil and grass seed.

b) Fence posts, fabric and will be recycled in container provided by Marina.

  1. Approximately 234’ Chain Link Fence
  1. Must be 9 gauge galvanized chain link, 7’ tall
  2. Galvanized after weaving (GAW) with at least a 1.2 oz. coating.
  3. Meets ASTM A 392-96 Class I to include truss rods, brace rails and tension wire. Must be reasonably free of excessive roughness, blisters, flaking and frozen joints.
  1. Top Lock PVC Slats
  2. Slats measure 1" wide x 1/4" thick and are hollow in a 2" sq. chain link mesh.
  3. Slats should be Lock Top PVC Slats, Brown or Tan in color.

  2. SS40 Industrial Strength Galvanized
  3. Meets ASTM F-1083 (Replaces ASTM A-120) and

  1. INSTALLATION

a. Fence

  1. Follow ASTM standard practice F 5467on installation of chain link fence as a proper guide covering installation practices.
  2. Post holes to be minimal of 12” wide and 30” deep. Corner posts and Gate posts to be a minimum of 12” wide and 36” deep. Sonotubes are acceptable.
  3. The ends of all framework items should be plain, i.e. no threads or couplings.
  4. Welded posts are not permitted.
  5. All framework materials should be reasonably straight and free from defects. The coatings should be free of voids or excessive roughness.
  6. Concrete to be 12” in diameter and 36” deep. Sonotubes if necessary for water table issue.

b. Gate

  1. Gate should be reasonably level, plumb and aligned. Must be in compliance with ASTM F900.
  2. All framework materials should be reasonably straight and free from defects. The coatings should be free of voids or excessive roughness.

PAYMENT

Payment for installation will be paid upon completion and satisfactory inspection of Project Manager.

SCHEDULE

Pre-Bid meeting will be held at the Somers Cove Marina Office: April 12, 2017 at 10:00 am

Questions in writing due by: Friday, April 14, 2017 at 4:00 pm.

Bids are due at the Somers Cove Marina Office: Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 4:00 pm

Project to begin: Monday, May 1, 2017

Project to be completed by: Friday, June 30, 2017

By submitting a proposal of this project, each bidder represents that they understand the requirements of the schedule. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to determine the exact measurement for bid purposes.
