SOI Las Vegas NASCAR RV Week

SOI Motorhome Club is putting together a Las Vegas NASCAR rally for 2015. Although NASCAR does not give any group discounts, we have put together a cost effective package, basically at cost, which will give our members the NASCAR experience at one of the most accessible tracks in NASCAR. The NEON garage is one of the major highlights at Las Vegas and gives everyone unparalleled access to the garage area. We believe that infield parking, close to the NEON garage entrance, although expensive, is imperative to obtaining the most memorable experience. We have also reserved grandstand seats for the main race in Section 2 (center) White, which will give everyone an excellent view of the majority of the track.
RV Parking in the infield will be available starting on 2 March and our group sites will be available for the entire week. We recommend that you arrive no later than Wednesday and the earlier you arrive the less traffic you will have to contend with getting into the facility. Our infield parking area is close to the Neon Garage entrance and close to the showers in the infield. Although we will not have hookups, there will be trucks providing water and dump service at an additional cost. We will also have a PortaPotti available in our area for the sole use of ourgroup. If you are only interested in the races, Wednesday is the best day to arrive at the Race Track. If you are interested in spending some time exploring the sights of Las Vegas then arriving on Monday is for you.
Monday through Wednesday it is relatively easy to get on and off the facility, making it easy to spend some time exploring downtown Las Vegas, Hoover Damn, Red Rock Canyon or the Valley of Fire State Park.Our staff will be able to provide suggestions and directions to your place of interest in the Las Vegas area.
The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars will be racing at the Dirt Track Wednesday evening, March 4th. This is an optional event but if you haven’t watched dirt track racing lately, well worth attending. Cost is about $40 per seat for the race and parking is available next to the Dirt track about a mile from our infield parking area. Also on Wednesday evening the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hauler parade happens on Las Vegas Blvd. You don’t have to leave the grounds because the hauler parade ends close to our parking area.
We start Thursday morning with a hot breakfast on site followed by an orientation to answer your questions and explain the tickets and passes you will be using the rest of the week. The week really kicks off with the opening of the Neon Garage at 11:30 and scheduled practice for Saturday’s 300 mile and Sunday’s 400 mile race’s. Neon Garage tickets for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are included in your package.This unique area provides unprecedented access to race teams and drivers and has sometimes been referred to as NASCAR’s Disneyland. It allows you to watch the drivers and crews from both Ground-level and elevated positions. A second evening of racing on the nearby dirt track will be an option after the Garage closes. You will have access from the infield to the Grandstand area each day through the tunnel.
Friday morning will start with a hot breakfast followed by the Neon Garage opening at 10:30. Practice and qualifying will be ongoing on the track until late afternoon. This evening theKobaltKampout RV Appreciation Party will be in the Neon Garage with entertainment and one dollar Beer and Dogs for all RV’ers.
Breakfast snacks will begin our Saturday with everything opening at 8 am for additional practice and at 1:15 pm the NASCAR Nationwide Series Boyd Gaming 300 begins. We have reserved seats in the Grandstand included for the 200 laps, 300 miles. After the race we will have dinner ready for you at our parking area in the infield.
On Sunday morning everything opens at 7 am, beginning with hot breakfast at our parking area. Not to be missed is the Speedway Children’s Charities Track Walk at 8:30 am followed by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and crew chief meeting at 10 am in the Neon Garage center area. After driver introductions, on the track, at 11:30 the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Kobalt 400 kicks off at 12 Noon. We have reserved seats in the Grandstand, section 2 White, for the 267 lap, 400.5 miles. Our farewell dinner will be in the infield after the race.
Monday morning our Continental Breakfast will be followed by hugs and goodbye’s.
The above schedule is pretty firm but subject to change as we get closer to the week. We will continue to provide information and updates as we get closer to the event to include optional activities (Hot Pass) and NASCAR radio/video rental information (allows you to hear the drivers/see the driver cams). Space is limited and we want to make sure everyone who would like to enjoy this fantastic week will be able to attend. Right now we anticipate having 20 rigs with 2 staff couples for our first SOI NASCAR Las Vegas RV Week.
