·  CDR Donald Schmidt has just announced that the SWPAG has created this subcommittee to comply with the HS-PAC uniform organizational structure. CDR Schmidt announced that he has become the chair of this committee, and he is seeking volunteers for co-chair and membership

Readiness- LCDR Tyson Baize

·  The SWPAG Readiness S/C is working with the HSPAC Readiness Committee on their Advanced Readiness Initiative. They have been tasked to provide information on what courses are being used by social work to prepare our SW Officers for deployment. They need a listing of all courses that are the most appropriate and/or recommended prior to deployment. If anyone is aware of a course that your deployment team requires, please send to LCDR Tyson Baize or LCDR Kari Harris.

Training and Education Subcommittee-CDR Monique Worrell:

·  Our very own USPHS social worker, CDR Anthony Johnson, PhD will provide a stellar presentation on recent research findings in ethics terminology and the ethical framework which can generate behavioral health program effectiveness and administration within integrated care settings. This is a webinar you do not want to miss. You can listen in from the comfort of your workstation. Registration details can be found in the upcoming newsletter.

·  We are in the development stages for a May/June HIV/AIDS webinar where we will offer 3 Free CEUs to all social workers that register and attend. Be on the lookout for more info on this activity. We are also seeking social workers to assist with the logistics. If interested, please contact LCDR Monique Warrell at

·  We are also working with the social work department at NIH to host a 2018 Social Work conference. We are seeking volunteers to assist with this historic partnership. If interested, please contact LCDR Monique Worrell at

Recruitment and Retention-LCDR Trisha Booker

·  Looking at developing a power point presentation to be used as a recruitment tool to present at different universities/groups.

·  Working on developing the AMSUS 100/200 campaign to increase PHS participation in AMSUS this year.

·  At Ford Bragg: For Social Work month, we completed an ice cream social for all social workers, developed a social work t shirt, in which is approved to be worn the next two Friday’s on post, and social workers running in the All American 5k on 26 March.

·  LCDR Olaniyan read the National Social Worker Month Proclamation.

·  She reminded people to submit articles for the newsletter
