Position Description: Arts Council Santa Cruz County is seeking a Social Media Marketing and Campaign Management Intern to work as an integral part of our marketing and communications team. ACSCC seeks to connect with new audiences, engaging new community connections through the arts. Through this we hope to also garner new connections and support.

Job Title: Social Media Marketing and Campaign Management Intern

Reports to: Development and Communications Director

Hours and Compensation: This is a 10 hour per week, $10/hr internship

Primary Area of Focus: The Social Media Marketing and Campaign Management Intern will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of this team toward engaging new audiences with Arts Council through Facebook and Isntragram. All marketing and communications for the organization are coordinated by the team as they work collaboratively to:

  • Plan and implement the recommendations for building a social media campaign around valuing all creators in our county, shining a light on hidden artful treasures and celebrating all that is artful in Santa Cruz County.
  • Ensure the consistency of Arts Council’s brand and identity on each social media channel, while adjusting tone for the targeted audience.
  • Facilitate collaborative marketing projects and support community initiatives that bring unlikely partners together through the arts.

Qualifications:

  • An interest in marketing, arts management and/or fundraising
  • Excellent knowledge of social media for marketing campaign purposes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong reading, writing, proofreading skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to take the lead on particular aspects of the project and report on program to the Development and Communications Director

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate messages for each social media channel as aligned with the team’s campaign plan.
  • Schedule pre-approved daily social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and actively look for quality images to pair with posts.
  • Maintain the presence on social media channels by responding to comments in a timely manner in accordance with ACSCC messaging.
  • Maintain and update ACSCC email database by adding new emails and updating bounce back emails.
  • Maintain ACSCC website updates related to events, programs or messages that correspond with messages shared in Social Media drives back to our website.
  • Provide research in support of ACSCC marketing and development on an as needed basis.
