Social Care Dementia Indicators
1 Social Care Dementia Indicators
The definitions for the core set of social care dementia indicators for all Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities (CASSRs) in England are provided below.
1.1Indicator 1 – The total number of new clients with dementia assessed during
the year over the predicted prevalence of clients with dementia

The denominator for this indicator shows the predicted volume of dementia patients for the period 2005/07 to 2009/10. These have been calculated by using the Alzheimer’s Society’s prevalence rates and applying them to the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 ONS mid year LA level population estimates.
