NOTES

  1. The regulations state that your programme of study must be pursued continuously except where special permission is given for interruption. Please give full reasons for needing to interrupt and attach documentary supporting evidence. Interruption is only granted in exceptional circumstances.

Where an interruption has been granted on medical grounds, a doctor’s certificate will be required before re-enrolment to confirm that the student is now well enough to resume study.

  1. Although you will remain registered with the University of London for your degree during a period of interruption, you will not be an enrolled student of the School and this time of interruption will NOT count towards the minimum prescribed period of study for your degree. Interruption implies that no progress will be made on your degree.
  1. The School is unable to sponsor Tier 4 visa nationals during periods of interruption. Under Tier 4 legislation, the School is required to report interruptions of study to the UKBA.
  1. Students on Interruption status have no automatic right of access to the School, its Library or other facilities on the basis of their registration for a research degree, or to supervision by academic staff, during the period of interruption.
  1. Interruption is not normally granted for more than three terms in total during any prescribed period of study.
  1. All requests for interruption will be subject to approval by the Associate Dean (Research).
