●  Presentation Dr. Guyer and students on MAPPing Underserved Populations in Alachua County

Rationale for study is to fill in gaps and improve understanding, “We count everybody because everybody counts”

●  The hospitals can’t do all of the community work without us.

●  Who was in charge of making the survey?

○  WellFlorida council, DOH and UFHealth with input from the community.

●  What were the outcomes of the survey?

○  When it was first done several things came of it, SWAG dental clinic, SNC and information for the CHIP

●  Can we find a way to define “access to health care”

○  This can mean transportation, lack of direct access to medical care, insurance, mental health, dental health, etc

●  Dr. Guyer can always have undergrad students to help with any initiatives-thank you!!

●  Working on advocacy

○  Have a document made by health professionals and the community so it's easier to make a point. Also ask other hospitals besides UFHealth to be part of the solution

●  Be able to calculate the cost benefit numbers to be able to show other benefactors and the state

●  $240,000 put together by county and city for rent subsidy. For subsidized rent only and people who need help finding a place to live

●  Maybe as a group we can advocate for priority be given to families with a child less than 1 year old.

●  Dollars are spent based on LHAP and part of the money will be for people off the street into homes and those who need a few months of assistance

●  James Lawrence is starting phase 2 of GNV for all, they will meet monthly and need new chairs for criminal justice and family and jobs,

●  27th international Cocktail party and silent auction John Tobacco free Florida

●  All Gainesville parks are smoke free, Santa Fe got rid of smoking huts and no smoking in parking lots

●  Working on local license for tobacco and we are able to put in new components (ie Tobacco 21 and selling tobacco within 500-1000 feet of schools)

Recently developed contract with doctors imaging group for x-rays ($50) and CT scan, this would help those that do not qualify for WeCare

●  Mental health first aide- program to help people identify people in distress, Tentative dates are May 12, 15,19,31. Go to website mbhci.org to register

●  Initiative housing program, security deposit help, vision assistance, prescription assistance for those that do not have Medicare part D, emergency bus passes,

●  Working on presenting CHIP, will follow up with day of presentation

●  Florida healthy babies meeting quarterly next one June 9th at 1pm

●  WIC farmers market started today

●  April is STI awareness month, PREP clinic every Friday and available to insured and uninsured
