SLSGB Qualifications and Awards - Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

The following is the guidance that SLSGB is providing regarding the minimum GLH that must be followed for our flagship qualifications and awards, and must be adhered too when delivering our courses. Please note that these GLH will be being monitored as part of the SLSGB Quality Assurance Process.

SLSGB First Responder / 16 GLH / Trainer Assessed / 14 years
SLSGB Aquatic First Aider / 8 GLH / Trainer Assessed / 14 years
SLSGB Tube Rescue / 8 GLH / Trainer Assessed / 14 years
SLSGB Board Paddler / 8 GLH / Trainer Assessed / 14 years
SLSGB Inland Waters Safety Awareness / 6 GLH / Trainer Assessed / 16 years
SLSGB Level 1 – Assistant Coach / 14 GLH / External Coach Assessor / 16 years
SLSGB Level 2 – Lead Coach / 16 GLH / External Coach Assessor / 18 years

These are the absolute minimum GLH and any ATC’s/SLSC’s failing to comply with the overall criteria will be put onto action plans through their designated AQAS Officer.
