Slide 5 - Enhancements Overview

Slide notes

If you are in charge of Talent Acquisition and your company is global you want your career site to provide an outstanding experience to your candidates in all countries and languages where you operate. In this tutorial we will review 4 features introduced in Sourcing 15B : Locale Name Harmonization with Recruiting Languages, Language Toggle On All Pages, Browser Language Determines The Session Language, Multilingual Custom Content Blocks In Site Builder and we will explain you how they will help you achieving this goal. Candidates will now easily connect in their preferred language or select another language from any part of the application. The sites will support multiple languages so that global deployments can be made simple. Let’s start with the first feature.

Notes

Slide 6 - Locale Name Harmonization With Recruiting Languages

Slide notes

Locale Name Harmonization With Recruiting Languages. This feature aims at providing an accurate list of languages supported by Sourcing. It will also standardize the languages names so that candidates can recognize the language they select. Instead of displaying country names we will display the language name. This language name will be displayed in its language. French will be displayed as Français for instance instead of the english version. We will also deprecate the languages that are not supported either because they don’t have a pairing in Recruiting or because we don’t have yet the translation available for them.

That will limit the risk of activating a language that would not be usable by the candidates.

Notes

Slide 7 - Locale Name Harmonization With Recruiting Languages

Slide notes

This feature will enhance the user experience. Candidates will identify easily the language they are interested in.

It will also simplify the administration of the solution and limit the risks for a wrong configuration.

On the right you have the table with the language pairing. In the first column the name used in 15A, in the second column the name that will be displayed in 15B and in the third column the correspondence in Recruiting. Please note that in 15B we are adding 7 new languages: Czech, Dutch, Finnish, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovakian and Turkish.

The languages and their translations will be delivered with the upgrade. If you want to activate them you just have to go in the configuration menu and add them in the list of activated languages. If you have built custom sites you may have to check the translation for your custom blocks. We will review this part later in the tutorial.

Notes

Slide 8 - Language Toggle On All Pages

Slide notes

Language Toggle On All Pages. This feature Adds a persistent language toggle on top of the application. It offers the possibility to the candidate to change the language of the application from every page instead of having to access their settings and select a preferred language.

Notes

Slide 9 - Language Toggle On All Pages

Slide notes

The benefits for the candidate is an easier access to the language selector. This is particularly important if they access the site from a mobile device.

It also emphasis the list of languages that are available for the career site. Some customers were implementing custom code as a workaround to give the candidate a quick access to any language. This will no longer be required which makes the implementation and maintenance of your career site easier.

Notes

Slide 10 - Browser Language Determines The Session Language

Slide notes

Browser Language Determines The Session Language.

When you configure sourcing you have to select a default language for the application. Until 15A the candidates would access the site in the default language and then could change the language for their preferred one.

In 15B we will detect the language set up for the candidate’s browser and we will connect the candidate in this language if available and activated.

If the browser’s language is not an activated locale in Sourcing, we will show sourcing in the configured Default Language

If a user authenticates, we will show sourcing in their preferred language if it was registered.

Notes

Slide notes

The benefit for the candidate is obvious. Being automatically connected in your preferred language is very comfortable.

And for the customer it helps promoting the work that has been put to localize the career site.

Notes

Slide 12 - Multilingual Custom Content Blocks In Site Builder

Slide notes

Multilingual Custom Content Blocks In Site Builder. The site builder offers very powerful tools that allow you to easily create and customize a new site. You can add blocks with rich content such as text and images. But these blocks up to 15A were unilingual. You could of course duplicate the site a localize it but the feature we are adding to 15B is much more flexible. In 15B you can add content to your site and translate it in every language that you have activated in Sourcing.

Notes

Slide 13 - Multilingual Custom Content Blocks In Site Builder

Slide notes

Let’s look in details on how it works. When you add a block you can now translate the text that you added to the block but also the images that are part of this block. This is because you may want to localize the images as well.

When you create a block you have to provide at least some content for the default language that you selected for Sourcing. If the block is not translated in a language that you activated, the content for the default language will be displayed for that block.

If you upgrade your instance of Sourcing the unilingual content will be copied for all locales. There will be no disruption for the candidates.

Last but not least you can configure the content for a language that is not yet activated. This is in order for you to prepare the site in a new language without having to display it until it is ready for publishing.

Notes

Slide 14 - Multilingual Custom Content Blocks In Site Builder

Slide notes

This feature will allow you to create 1 site and translate it easily in several languages. The workload for the solution implementation is reduced when you have to support multiple languages. The administration of the site is also simplified.

The candidate experience is highly improved. The candidate simply select another language to see the same site translated. They don’t have to navigate between sites

Notes

Slide 17 - Summary of the Multilingual Capabilities

Slide notes

Here is the summary of the features I have talked about today

Locale Name Harmonization , the languages names are standardized and aligned to Recruiting ,

Language Toggle on all pages that adds a drop down list on the top left of the screen to select the application language from every page, Browser Language Determines the Session Language that connects the users in their browser language

And Multilingual Custom Content in Site Builder to provide text and mages localized for each language

Notes

Slide 18 - Implementation Advice

Slide notes

In this implementation advice section we will go through what you need to consider before enabling these features in your business, and what you need to know to set them up.

Notes

Slide 19 - Feature Impact Guidelines

Slide notes

This table details the features that need activation or specific setup.

All of the features we saw will be automatically activated.

Multilingual Custom Content in Site Builder may require you to review your configuration. We will explain that in the following slides.

Notes

Slide 20 - Setup Summary

Slide notes

The feature Multilingual Custom Content blocks in site builder is automatically available. But if you have existing blocks and several languages activated, you will need to provide a translation for each of the block. This is not mandatory because we will display the default language. Therefore the user experience will remain the same as it was before. But it is strongly recommended.

Notes

Slide 21 - Multilingual Custom Content in Site Builder

Setup Detail

Slide notes

In order to translate your blocks, edit the block in Site builder and change the language in the left side bar. You should provide a translation for each language activated.

Notes

Slide 22 - Setup Best Practices

Slide notes

As we said the default language or locale for Sourcing is a key parameter. For the site builder we will use it to display the default content. Keep in mind as well that we deprecate some languages that are not supported. So prior to the upgrade please make sure that your default language is part of the languages supported in 15B.

We also recommend to only activate in Sourcing the languages that are also active in Recruiting.

The language toggle may impact your branding if you have put in place some custom branding. It can be redundant with a language list that you would have placed in the header for instance. We recommend to review this branding and test thoroughly the display within various browsers or devices.

Notes

Slide 23 - Setup Best Practices

Slide notes

If you have created sites and made use of the site builder to provide rich content, please review this content in each language that you have activated in Sourcing. I t is better to provide the translation for these blocks because candidates will now have an easy access to all languages activated.

It is best practice to prepare your translations and pictures in your staging zone, test them and then copy them on production.

Notes

Slide 24 - Business Process Information

Slide notes

The business processes associated with the new capabilities covered in this training are detailed here.

The high level business process is Locale selection with the selection of the default locale and the selection of the active locales

The other business process covered is the site creation and update through the site builder. The activities impacted are the creation and update of custom blocks and the management of the advanced branding.

This concludes this presentation, thank you for listening. You can easily pause and rewind any of these slides if you require additional time to take in the detail.
