Parents and Swimmers we have decided to target a meet in Canberra for the club to attend as our winter away trip; The meet is open to all ages but please check the qualifying times and enter appropriate races for your age, the details are as follows,

Australian Institute of Sport, Bruce ACT 2617 (8 lane, 25 metre indoor

pool, full electronic timing)

Entries will only be accepted by E-Entry. Electronic entries

must be accompanied by a meet entry report by name with

proof of time. Meet shell available for download from the

Swimming ACT or TVSC websites http://www.vikingsswim.org/.

SPECIAL AIS Program Friday the 23rd

Train where the Olympians train”

On the Friday the 23rd at 12.30pm to 2.30pm all Aquadot members going to the meet will be invited to participate in a training session under Gordon our state coach at the AIS pool.

This is free and a bit of a thrill to “train where the Olympians train”

After that its back to the hotel and rest for the two day meet, we will have a team walk around the lake on Saturday morning with coaches to relax and then to the comp.

We have indicated that the majority of the team will stay at the following locations which is close to the AIS and also shops and restaurants,

Please if you are looking to book your accommodation then wait to call the tradies from Tuesday the 8th as we are negotiating a room discount for Aquadot members, It will require you to advise the bookings people at the hotel that you are part of the Aquadot Team to have the discount applied to your specific room rate request.

Rooms range in price and also type but you can see the accommodation on the following website, we stayed here last year and it was very good, clean and the club is underneath so you can rest eat and play all at the one place.

I Highly recommend this as a great club building event, it has been great over the last few years to travel with other swimmers, the kids have a great time and get to know each other and forge friendships that last, and the parents get to relax and create friendships with other like minded parents, if you can come it’s a lot of fun with the coaches, national/ state and juniors in tow Aquadot make a great impression on other clubs.
