Single Source Partner Rexroth Shows System Competence at the 2002 Hannover Fair

“Eighty percent of our innovations are based on talks with customers,” emphasized Manfred Grundke, Automation Sales Director of Bosch Rexroth AG at the 2002 Hannover Fair. In addition to numerous new products from hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical drive and control technology, as well as linear motion and assembly technologies, the company is presenting in particular solutions stretching beyond just technological competence: SERCOS interface-compatible hydraulic valves and control systems, pneumatic valves that support not only AS-i but also Device NET, CANopen and Profibus DP Bus protocols, as well as proven Soft-SPS control systems and integrated linear axes.

“Through these non-business unit-specific solutions we are offering machine manufacturers the way to system partnerships and single sourcing,” said Grundke. “As the global machine component supplier and technology leader we supply all essential drive and control technologies from a single source.” In the field of plastics machinery, for example, in addition to the conventional hydraulic systems, Rexroth is also offering newly-developed electromechanical and hybrid drive solutions. The company is consistently utilizing its product know-how and its best-in-class components from all fields of technology.

As The Drive & Control Company Rexroth is constantly going for universally accepted interfaces, thus supporting the trend towards flexible “world machines”. The integration of motion control and logic holds a prominent position here in the development of new systems. “No one can assess and realize the efficiency of all drive types better than the multi-technology specialist Rexroth,” said Grundke, explaining the strengths of the only supplier world-wide of all essential drive and control technologies.

Rexroth’s comprehensive range of services is playing an increasingly decisive part in the systems business. For this purpose Rexroth has focused its total service competence on one separate business unit, developing a number of new services. “We see in the future a trend away from reactive service to a partner guaranteeing production, ” emphasized Grundke. “And we are prepared for this.“

Bosch Rexroth Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. In the year 2001 the company had total revenues of approximately 3.86 billion Euros and a worldwide total of around 26,000 employees. Business units include Industrial Hydraulics, Electric Drives and Controls, Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies, Pneumatics, Service Automation and Mobile Hydraulics. Bosch Rexroth offers as The Drive & Control Company comprehensive solutions for drives and motion control in about 80 countries around the world.
