Note: although the gap in 2013/14 has significantly reduced from 2012/13, the average tariff score for SIMD Decile 1 had only increased by 2 points. The average tariff score for SIMD Decile 10 had reduced by 46 points.
Work of partnership will seek to positively impact on attainment levels for those in deprived areas.

The Learning and Workforce Thematic Group have identified a priority area to develop localities indicators to consider resilience, wellbeing. The CLD Regulations outcomes, while sitting under the remit of the Learning and Workforce Thematic Group, span the breadth of more than one thematic group. Perceptions of local wellbeing in priority communities are currently being surveyed – data is presently available for Northfield and Tillydrone. The partnership group will seek to improve these wellbeing perceptions over time.

The percentage of individuals claiming out of work benefits for more than 6 months in April of 2012 was 0.9% this decreased to 0.4% in April 2014
The Learning and Workforce Thematic Group will be looking at SIMD employment domain information to ascertain and track the neighbourhoods with the highest levels of unemployment.
Target for 2014/15 is suggested to be set at a higher level than the actual for 2013/14 as a result of the impact of the downturn in the oil industry.

Improved literacy for adults for whom literacies is a barrier to their wellbeing* (and the wellbeing of their families)
Definition of literacies: “the ability to read, write, and use numeracy, to handle information, to express ideas and opinions, to make decisions and solve problems, as family members, workers, citizens and lifelong learners.”
*wellbeing – does not just refer to health, also takes into consideration life satisfaction, happiness, welfare etc.
