Rules and Regulations
- The submitted entries should neither have won awards in any other competition nor been submitted concurrently to other similar competitions.
- Entries submitted must be participants' own project work or invention; any form of plagiarism will be rejected.
- Short-listed participants are required to demonstrate and explain their projects / prototypes / inventions to a selected panel of judges.

(i) Closing Date for submission of projects : 31 July 2017
(ii)Each project must be accompanied by the following:
(a)A completed Entry Form. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify the projects which are submitted without entry forms or incomplete entry forms.
(b) An executive summary of not more than 2 pages for each project.
(c) Detail reports or write-up to explain the submitted project. Restrict to not more than 40 pages.
(d) The project should be submitted in the form of a report, actual product, equipment or prototype. Project / Report should explain how the product, equipment or prototype works. Pictures or any other evidences that will support the cause of the project should also be submitted together with the project.
(e) Students are encouraged to submit projects that focus on the application and developmentof the project products and concepts, rather than just concentrate on fact finding.
- Participants shall bear all costs incurred in submitting the entry. However, Sembcorp Marine can be contacted to advise participants the best way to send their projects to the yard for assessment. While every care will be exercised in the handling of the entries, the organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
- The organisers will not be responsible for any loss of patent rights.
- Participants are to collect their projects within 1 month after the award presentation from the designated place or within 15 days upon receiving of the written notice from Sembcorp Marine’s Environmental Care Committee, whichever is earlier. Otherwise the organisers reserve the right to dispose the projects.
- The rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice.
Participants
- Only students from primary & secondary schools, junior colleges and institutes of technical education and tertiary institutions (undergraduates) are allowed to participate.
- Foreign students studying in Singapore at levels equivalent to university or below are welcome to participate.
- For team participation, there is no restriction on the number of students per team.
- Teams made up of students from different schools are allowed, but students need to seek endorsement from the respective schools before submitting the proposal forms.
- Students who had recently graduated in 2017 can also participate so long as they have the endorsement of the school that they had graduated from.
- Participants are allowed to submit more than one project, however, they are required to submit a proposal form for each project.
Judges
The decisions of the judges are final and binding. Should all entries for a certain school category not meet the judging and assessment criteria, Sembcorp Marine reserves the right not to make an award to that particular category or to make merit, commendation and encouragement awards instead of the top three prizes.
Patent rights
Should any project product or idea be commercially patented as a result of the participation in the Green Wave project, all patent rights will belong to Sembcorp Marine Ltd and costs for patent rights will be borne by Sembcorp Marine. The profits from the sale of the commercially manufactured product, if any, will be shared on a 75%-25% basis with the school/students who originated the product benefiting 25% of the profits and Sembcorp Marine 75% of the profits. All cost of marketing and distributing the product will be borne by the Sembcorp Marine.
